What's your 'comfort telly'?

So for me it's Gavin and Stacey and Friends. Whenever I need some comfort, they go on.

What's yours and what do you think it is that makes something 'comfort telly'?

I only really watch telly when I get into bed at night, I like old shit that’s repeated a hundred times - no concentrating and something to nod off to! Men Behaving Badly, Bottom, Vicar of Dibley, Inbetweeners, Friday Night Dinner, that low brow comedy stuff that makes me laugh and doesn’t require much thought.

Any sort of a dating show.

Also, Old People's Home for 4 Year Olds - there's never been a more heartwarming show.

Downton for me - with a blanket on the sofa, pot of tea and toast on the side table... love it!

Would I lie to You - especially if Bob Mortimer is on. However daft, it’s always true

Unforgotten series 3.

ReginaPerrin · 18/08/2022 19:15

Any programme to do with hoarding. I love it when a house is transformed at the end, and the hoarder has a safer home. I’m not sure why these are my comfort programmes though, as I’m not a hoarder or a clean-freak!

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 18/08/2022 19:15

Doc Martin, Detectorists, Escape to the Country.

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/08/2022 19:15

Say Yes To The Dress (all franchises) and any other wedding dress or wedding planning show.
Any property programmes. Particularly any with George Clark or the ones with the Scott twins.
