What cute little things do you do for your family

I know it’s a bit of a weird one and arguably he should find his own motivation but I always go to the gym so my DP can go.

I was such a little gym rat before I was a mummy bear so I am happy to be back but DP does struggle with motivation to go in the mornings and for some reason, I imagine competitiveness 😂 I know as soon as I get back from my session he’ll be ready to go and taken his pre work out. It’s so good for him and it definitely puts him in a better mood when he’s been.

Whats some cute things you do xxx

I make him food he likes. Look after his toddler. Wash his smelly gym clothes. Pluck his ear hairs.

When he pisses me off I transfer my pay to the joint account with descriptions like 'wanker' or 'cunt'

Sahara123 · 05/08/2022 12:29

If someone wrote something on my steamy bathroom mirror I’d be fecking annoyed as it is almost impossible to get rid of , seems to re appear every time the mirror steams up again ! ( I may have done this as a stroppy teenager mother not impressed …)

VeganGordie · 05/08/2022 12:31

a day out to the zoo, theme park, picnic in the park, swimming baths

squashandrun · 05/08/2022 12:33

@ForTheLoveOfSleep I can imagine your DP being @doodlywoodlydingdong's sibling, same sort of psycho vibes in a very funny way 😂

Interesting vocab aside, I wish people wouldn't be so twatty to OP - it's a nice thread. Sometimes I tell my siblings they look nice, very generous of me. (I will also occasionally surprise them both with drinks when they are WFH)

Motnight · 05/08/2022 12:38

Buy random things like nice skin and body care for my mid 20s dd and send her a photo of them next to our cat saying that he has been shopping again. We have had many a conversation about how our cat has travelled to the shops, and carried everything home.

Oof ,how did American shite tv start to dominate people's vocabulary.

'Cute' - about everything can fuck off unless it's a small child or animal.

Try and read a book (that hasn't been ghostwritten) you might surprise yourself.

I don't get posters like this, if you don't like a thread, then move on to another thread! Why be mean and rude? Several people have been so rude about the op's way of expressing herself, it might not be to your taste but it is her choice to express her self how she wants to. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

That's not really how social media works.

  1. "Mummy bear"
  1. "I always go to the gym so he can go" - what does that mean? Why do you have to go so he goes after you? Very odd.

It's baffling that it's a thing at all, much less considered a cute thing 🤷🏻‍♀️

BlueKaftan · 05/08/2022 15:15

I pluck his one eyebrow that grows long and wild.

Wnikat · 05/08/2022 15:16

doodlywoodlydingdong wins this one

The entire world of Internet chat would end Grin

I love this!

I work more hours than is good for any human with a shower of dickheads to pay for my families lifestyle. I think that’s cute enough for them.

I'm afraid that if you're not initialling your DC's hot chocolate with cocoa powder before lovingly adding heart marshmallows (or ideally setting up a whole hot chocolate bar!) or carving your family's sandwiches to spell 'I ❤U' when they open their lunchboxes, you need to up the cuteness levels 😁.

PeloAddict · 05/08/2022 16:02

Make him coffee first thing and take it to him in bed
If he's having a crap day at work then I order cake delivery online for him

I mean he cooks anything I want, will give me a back massage every night, buys me flowers... Blush

dizzydizzydizzy · 05/08/2022 16:20

@Blueeyedgirl21 thanks! You've made my day.

Summergarden · 05/08/2022 16:20

doodlywoodlydingdong · 05/08/2022 10:31

I take great pride in making my husbands packed lunches. He gets tasted like royalty and has several different lunch boxes depending on what I'm making him. Apparently the other drivers get lunch envy when they see him opening his apple pie and custard or his club sandwiches. On the flip side, when he annoys me I stab messages into his banana with a toothpick and they turn black and become visible over a few hours. If he's really pissed me off then I often write in sharpie an a cheese slice and leave it wrapped in his butty. If is divorce territory then I might ice some biscuits with CUNT on them.

I also like making my kids a hot chocolate as soon as they come in from school in the winter.

Bloody hell, I nearly pissed myself laughing reading this! Made my day!

ShowOfHands · 05/08/2022 16:46

Nothing. Because I'm 41. I'm not sure I was cute at 4. I bit the GP once for example. In my defence, he was a cunt.

xxcatcatcatxx · 05/08/2022 19:52

What the fuck, people are so mean and for the record I’m English. Fucking hellllll. Just wanted to see if anyone else did cute things, clearly got my answer.

Some of these are so sweet though 🥰 Especially the one about the hot chocolate xxx

I just think we are all a bit confused about what’s cute about arranging timings for going to the gym? It just sounds like you go first and then he goes when you get back? I can’t really see anything cute or romantic about it, I think that’s why people are joking a bit. It’s a bit like saying that you wait for you husband to have a wee before you go in and do a poo after. Considerate, but not exactly romantic!

OnaBegonia · 06/08/2022 00:19

you go to the gym so he can got to gym
how is that cute?
Do you can yourself a proud mama too?
🤮🤮

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 06/08/2022 00:32

Well op, you're obviously new here. There's nothing cute about the sanctimonious arseholes of mumsnet. 🙄This is actually a good idea for a thread, I used to do lots of nice things for my dc when they were small, the favourite one was rearranging their toys to make a 'scene' for them coming home from nursery. Barbie shot teddy with a banana etc

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 06/08/2022 00:43

I put the DC's pyjamas on the radiator to warm up in winter. They are nearly 11 and 14.

I polish the apples for DH adult DC and foster son. They all like a really shiny red apple.
