For drinking that is. Not showers.

Just curious after a discussion with a friend who is French and will only drink room temperature water.

room temperature and I like my fruit at room temperature too. Cold strawberries are not nice!

Agree on the fruit! MIL keeps all her fruit in the fridge. OK, she lives on her own and it lasts longer. But I really don't much like cold oranges!

Clevs · 30/07/2022 21:45

If it's plain water then I like it room temperature. If I put squash in it then I like it cold.

Sparklingbrook · 30/07/2022 21:46

Icy cold and preferably with ice in. Bleurgh at room temperature or tepid water.

Ginlovingmumof4 · 30/07/2022 21:48

ice cold. I like cold drinks to be properly cold and hot drinks to be properly hot; I can’t drink hot drinks that have cooled down and often pop my coffee in the microwave to make sure it’s hot right to the end!

Room temperature.
Same for tomatoes and strawberries.

I'm with you!

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/07/2022 21:50

Room temperature

I am forever sending glasses full of ice back

Ponderingwindow · 30/07/2022 21:51

Full of ice, frosty cold.

Nat6999 · 30/07/2022 21:51

Freezing cold, my drinks have two temperatures, freezing cold or boiling hot, I can't stand luke warm drinks. My mum puts all the bottles on her worktop in the utility room & when the sun gets on it it ends up warm, I spend a fortune on bags of ice. As soon as I get back home I'm buying an American fridge freezer with chilled water & ice maker.

TheRookie · 30/07/2022 21:52

Absolutely bamboozled that people chose to drink room temperature water!!!

If I could drink ice, I would. As cold as it can be for me please. I even put ice on white wine... SHAME

FindingMeno · 30/07/2022 21:54

Room temperature.
I also prefer warm beer which is, apparently, a disgrace.

Well it is a disgrace but you would love my parents who keep cans of lager in the cupboard.Sad

Neither. I like it as it comes out of the tap after it's been running for 20 seconds or more. Which is normally colder than room temperature but not ice cold.

This. Colder than room temperature (which feels hot to me and disgusting). But it’s not gluggable if it’s ice cold.

Littleguggi · 30/07/2022 22:39

Room temp or lukewarm

marrymeadam · 30/07/2022 22:41

Room temp. My DP were having this conversation the other day. I prefer all my drinks at the temp that you almost can't feel them in your mouth. So actually more body temp than room temp

etulosba · 30/07/2022 22:43

I rarely drink water but, when I do, I don’t care whether it is fridge or room temperature.

Fatballs · 30/07/2022 22:45

I am forever sending glasses full of ice back

Same here.

AliMonkey · 30/07/2022 22:48

Colder than room temp but not necessarily ice cold - but if I've only drunk some of it and come back to it later, I'll drink it room temperature rather than waste it.

ClaraThePigeon · 30/07/2022 22:53

Thanks to all for the responses. Far more people prefer room temperature/tepid water than I expected.

Ice cold.

Room temperature water actually makes me gag and I've been sick when made to drink it in the past 😳

But I have sensory issues which probably explain that one!

Anotherdayanotherdisappointment · 30/07/2022 23:10

Inbetween. Not ice cold but slightly chilled.

MiddleParking · 30/07/2022 23:16

It had never crossed my mind that anyone would actively prefer room temperature water to cold.

Me three! One or two icecubes is fine, half a glass of ice is not OK. I either ask the staff to remove them or just fish them out myself.

mrsfollowill · 30/07/2022 23:31

Lager in the cupboard is an absolute disgrace!!
When DH and I set up home together 24 years ago we both drank lager- bought our Miele fridge on the grounds we could fit 32 cans of lager in it upright!
That fridge is still going strong although neither of us drink lager much anymore. When/if this fridge dies I will happily buy the same one again even though it is £450 these days- I love all cold drinks properly cold/iced cannot stand a room temp can of Coke for example. Also like a PP hot drinks need to be HOT - lukewarm tea or coffee -nope!

PinkButtercups · 30/07/2022 23:33

Ice cold bottled water. Tap water is just a no no. We live in a hard water area and the tap water is gross. Even if I tried it ice cold it's still a no from me!
