I got excited for a moment then! Tbf it is cheaper if you book in advance but not quite that cheap!

if money was no object and I didn’t care about flying long haul, I’d go to New Zealand or Canada. I spent a few months in Canada in my 20s but I’d love to go back and see more of the country -Vancouver Island is on my bucket list.

HollowTalk · 25/07/2022 23:10

Not quite as cheap as I said the best one for £18 one way Venice to Rome.

I think that is probably a slow train and you'd be travelling all day. Which I guess is ok if you really like trains! I prefer the 4 hour journey though.

Camper van around Scotland, staying in really remote places.
Have been all over the world but something about the wildness of Scotland keeps drawing me back

I'm with you on Scotland!

@HollowTalk Now I'm intrigued! Why is it so much more expensive on the trenitalia app? I'm going to try The Trainline first next time!

Sadly when you click through, you find that there are no more tickets available at that price!

Namibia
or
Australia - northern and central bits - Great Barrier Reef, rainforest, uluru.
or
European road or rail trip e.g.
travel through France and then around Spain

katscamel · 26/07/2022 07:05

If budget wasn't an issue then I'd go to Australia and NZ to see friends.

BarrelOfOtters2 · 26/07/2022 07:12

top budget . in summer I’d go to Scandinavia and ferry and train around islands and fjords.

vancouver, see family then go up the coast.

in September or a may , Japan for a month. We are planning it for next year.

Greek islands. We’ve done three weeks island hopping the Cyclades a couple of years in a row. Or do a dual Balearics. We’ve done Ibiza and Formentera. Right now we’re doing three weeks split between Mallorca and Menorca.
Could easily stretch any of these to a month.

countdowntonap · 26/07/2022 08:01

@LovelyYellowLabrador just seen your post about Greek island hopping. We found Syros, Mykonos and Tinos all to be very distinct in their architecture and atmosphere. Ano Syros is so beautiful with its neoclassical style and nothing like the whitewashed streets of Mykonos.

ChickenBurgers · 26/07/2022 08:02

Australia, but I have family out there which influences my decision making. If I was going somewhere for a month, it’d be to see my family.

onemouseplace · 26/07/2022 08:04

US road trip. We’re very early stages of thinking about it for next summer (3 weeks though).

Vicliz24 · 26/07/2022 08:05

A big USA road trip

DistrictCommissioner · 26/07/2022 08:09

We’ve been thinking about Bali or Costa Rica. We want to go somewhere where you can surf in warm water without a wetsuit!

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 26/07/2022 08:22

I wouldn't literally just mooch around France for a month

Frankola · 26/07/2022 14:50

Italy. Beautiful place
