My last baby is 3 mo, so not something I need to worry about, but was just thinking about this:

  • Lettice
  • Anne
  • Georgiana
  • Clemency
  • Ambrosine
  • Adelaine
  • Otteline
  • Margaret
  • Barbara
  • Julia
  • Shirley
  • June
  • Patricia
  • Pandora
  • Diana
  • Kenneth
  • Harold
Wh would you like to add?

When I was pregnant with my 2nd I really wanted Ernie (Ernest) for a boy but I already had a Bert so it was a no!!
I had a girl so it wasn't an issue in the end.

Two that were top names for centuries - John and Mary.
And Anne
Andrew (I’m biased here)

I love Dora and Edith and Edmund.

PP please do not call your daughter Clothilde, and I can’t imagine looking at a baby and calling it Nigel

My daughter had a guinea-pig called Bert , he was the loveliest soppiest (thickest) animal on the face of the earth , love Bert as a name

I heard a parent call "Ralph" to their little boy , love that name too ( though I think more Lord of the Flies than Lauren)

I swear some of you lot are very high or very bored! 😂

either that or you’re seeing how gullible we are to see if we all agree the weirdest names you can think of are “gawjus” 🤢

Vincitveritas · 26/07/2022 13:08

ds1’s and dd1’s first names, and dd2’s first and middle names have both been mentioned. Ds2 is Leonard.

I really like the name Pamela, I think it’s both pretty and sophisticated, with even the shortening not being twee.

Drusillaspark · 26/07/2022 15:33

Snoopsnoggysnog · 27/07/2022 21:05

Wow - Gloria is a fabulous name, you just never hear of little girls with that name but it absolutely deserves a comeback.
Not sure it was ever that popular in the UK though?

Caspianberg · 27/07/2022 21:29

Ours neighbours granddaughter recently visited, she was Wilma, age 5.

Yes a I knew a few - would be in their 80s now? Suspect they were named after Hollywood startlets in the 1930s?
