Where do you do your food shop?

Today I went to Aldi as usually much cheaper than Tesco/Asda but today I found it really quite expensive for the little things I got! I know prices have gone up etc.

M&S and Waitrose.

Sainsburys, Morrisons, Lidl and the occasional delivery from naice stuff from Ocado.

Tesco and Lidl as they're the only ones locally. I long for a morrisons though as they used to be my favourite one when I lived in a place with one, thought they had decent deals and quality.

What some may consider a bizarre combination between Lidl and Waitrose 😄 I would do my whole shop at Lidl but the shelf life and quality of the fruit and veg is just awful at ours - no sell by dates seems to be an excuse there to leave things out until they start rotting in the shop or you buy something that has grown mould by the next day - not sure if this is similar elsewhere? But otherwise it’s good for everything else. Waitrose (across the road from Lidl) for fruit and veg, and more niche ingredients as I do like to cook and try out new recipes - and on many occasions freebies for my four year old, take one of their gingerbread men to the till and more often than not the person at the checkout says it’s on the house! Both shops are fairly small and I like that. We have a massive ASDA nearby too and I never go - I hate big supermarkets, it takes ten times longer to do a shop in there. I feel like people spend more money in those because you walk around for ages trying to find what’s on your list and there’s just too much choice and offers and distractions, you always end up with food you don’t need. If I shopped there regularly I’d definitely have less money and weigh more.

Lidl. Anything they don't have (like chilli powder), I get in Tesco.

Mainly Waitrose and Ocado as one is close by and the other has a few items I like and they deliver for free on weekends. Occasionally Sainsburys or Tesco. Before I moved here it was always Tesco.
I've just started trying Hello Fresh - in my second week. Don't like the amount of packaging, but as there's no food wastage I'm probably saving money even though the actual items are more expensive than if I bought the stuff myself.
