All my doors & windows are open so why isn't my house cooling down?

It's still baking hot inside my house. 30s block construction. Why is it still so hot indoors?

My walls are literally radiating heat. I’ve opened all the windows now as it is cooler outside than in, but it will do no good until the walls are cool

Ive been nekkid all day and still boiling. Pendulum breasts swinging everywhere. My vag area is very sweaty...TMI😁

Ha me too. Naked with big period nappy - ducked into shower all day. Ha TMI. I really don’t understand how it would have been cooler if I had shut everything in a big glass house tho. I would be a dead mess 🔥

So do I, you need to close the blinds/ curtains too.

I've kept windows and curtains closed during the day since last Wednesday. Since Friday I've added throws on top of the curtains as it seemed my thin curtains weren't doing a very good job of keeping the heat out. Not sure if that made much difference, it has still reached 30 degrees in my flat for the last 3 days.

I am in a top floor flat and have south and west facing windows so get sun shining right into my flat all afternoon until sunset. Closing windows and curtains certainly didn't stop it feeling like a greenhouse in here.

It is the laws of physics. If the windows have coverings, it is usually better to keep hot air out.

I opened the window upstairs in my bedroom about an hour ago as the temperature outside had dropped and there is a cool breeze but it hasn’t made any difference and it is still feeling very hot and stuffy inside. I don’t have a thermometer to measure the temperature but if I stick my hand out the window it’s definitely cooler out there than in here. I guess it takes a while for air to begin to circulate from outside to in through the relatively small opening of a window and unfortunately the breeze is blowing in the wrong direction to come through the window!

The house itself (and everything in it including us) has absorbed heat. It’s still releasing that heat inside (and out, but we don’t care about that) o my very slowly, because the air isn’t much cooler than the house, even now. It’s not just a case of changing the inside air for outside air once and done. The house is a source of heat. Fortunately in the UK this isn’t usually noticeable because night temps drop and we lose heat easily.

Now got an enormous soporific fly buzzing around occasionally landing on me too. Writing the entire day off.
