I’m going out for a curry and always order the same dish, chicken korma. I fancy trying something else, any suggestions, I tried Byrani twice but didn’t think it tasted of much.

I've started making passanda instead of korma and it seems to be a big hit with my korma loving yd, so that would be my suggestion

Glitterspy · 14/07/2022 17:42

King prawn pasanda, yum!
Have you tried puri, peshwari naan, parathas - you might like all those milder breads.
Tarka daal is also mild and delicious.

fudfootedfannybangle · 14/07/2022 17:49

Chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna and prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan and 9 poppadoms.

Chicken tikka chasni is the best!

7catsisnotenough · 14/07/2022 17:58

Pasanda, mushroom pilau and a Peshwari naan....😉👍🏼

BoJoGoGo · 14/07/2022 17:58

The 9 poppadoms made me laugh.

@BoJoGoGo it’s chicken tikka pieces in korma sauce. Really nice if you’re not ready to try something completely different

FunkyPhantom · 14/07/2022 19:14

Try a chicken Ceylon, flavour of coconut but a bit more spice, nothing excessive though.

I'm usually a jalfrezi or Madras, but now and again will go for this 👍

Yorkshirebred · 14/07/2022 19:16

Mango chicken is lovely and not spicy at all.

QueenOfWeeds · 14/07/2022 19:18

Chicken saag! You can ask for it to be mild if you aren’t good with heat.

CaptainBeakyandhisband · 14/07/2022 19:19

Dupiaza? Or any of the above. Please step away from the korma and wake your taste buds up 😊

CaptainCorellisXylophone · 14/07/2022 19:21

One of the joys of eating at an Indian restaurant is trying other people's dishes. Have a taste of everyone else's, even if it's just the sauce left, and try to remember the ones you like for next time.

Blueberrycreampie · 14/07/2022 19:22

My fav is Pathia which is sweet and sour but also slightly spicy - I always order chicken or lamb.

WeAllHaveWings · 14/07/2022 19:31

Butter chicken
Tikka masala
Chasni
Patia
Tandoori chicken (usually comes with separate basic milder curry sauce)

When we order at home we tend to get one mild, one medium and one hotter and mix it up a bit. Having a mild one means you get the flavour for the spicy one with the mild one to offset having a whole hot one.

StrangeCondition · 14/07/2022 19:38

Badame for me, mild, creamy, cashews...yum

onmywayamarillo · 14/07/2022 19:39

Passamda you'd like that it's sweet and slightly sour

onmywayamarillo · 14/07/2022 19:40

Pasanda!

Brilliant 😂

ItWasntMyFault · 14/07/2022 21:52

Chicken Saagwala

FunkyPhantom · 14/07/2022 22:10

Try a chicken tarka .......it's like a tikka but a little otter 👍

sanityisamyth · 14/07/2022 22:18

Try being allergic to tomato and then choosing curry ... or Chinese ... or Italian ...

Can't help! Can only really eat korma!

Pisses me right off when people do this with my food with the tomato contaminated cutlery, rendering my food inedible!

BoJoGoGo · 14/07/2022 22:54

I just got back from a fab night, I ordered a king prawn bhuna and shared mushroom rice, peshwari naan, spinach bahji and I had
a mini bottle of Prosecco. It was all delicious, chicken korma is so last year.

Agree with passanda. I used to only eat korma (as I don't like it hot), but definitely converted to passanda.
