I love the heat in the day, I'll jump in the pool with the children (or even on my own). But when it's over 20 at this time of night HOW THE FUCK AM I MEANT TO SLEEP 😭. I haven't fully slept for at least 3 nights now and I'm tired.

25 here and 51% humidity?!

Fan is doing a lovely job of blowing hot air at me :/

JupiterFifth · 19/07/2022 23:31

Northern England here and my blink cameras are showing 29 deg at the front, 28 deg at the back. Painfully hot.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 19/07/2022 23:37

We had thunderstorms earlier and it cooled a little, but not for long. I'm hoping tomorrow will bring cooler night time temperatures. I can deal with it during the day, but nights are awful.

It was 29C at 11pm here. I thought i had gone mad but I looked on the BBC hourly thing and it said it was too, on the weather station reported temperature. I even took a photo. lol.

This has been the worst night but it will be over in a few hours :)

The temperature will drop now every hour.

It's 31 degrees inside.
I can't get to sleep!

CheerfulYank · 20/07/2022 00:54

It’s 30 or so here (the States) but still evening so I hope it will cool down a bit this evening.

I hate that we don’t have central AC, just window units, but I’m not going to complain about them anymore after hearing how it’s been there!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 20/07/2022 01:05

30 here still 😩 my toddler is melting. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and chuffing miserable

CharlieLo · 20/07/2022 01:14

22’c outside my hive thermostat saying 29’c in my house. Got the fan going but just can’t sleep!

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 20/07/2022 01:16

I've just woken up for the 3rd time since going to bed at 11pm, just getting a few minutes doze before the sweating wakes me up again. I'm now sat outside in the garden trying to cool off.

purpleme12 · 20/07/2022 03:39

It's gone down from 31 degrees to 30 degrees (inside)
I've still not managed to go to sleep and I've got an 11 hour day at work tomorrow!

awwbiscuits · 20/07/2022 03:48

33 weeks pregnant. I woke at 1.30 because of massive thunder. Awake again at 3:30 drenched in sweat and had to go and swap the ice pack I'm cuddling to a new one from the freezer. Never been so uncomfortable in my life.

Saladcreamormayo · 20/07/2022 03:54

I am going to scream in a minute as can't cope anymore all I want to do is get some sleep I feel like I'm in the friggin oven. I've got heat rage ahhh.

itsthesoundofthepolice · 20/07/2022 04:23

Any one struggling to sleep wet a towel/large scarf/large muslin with cold water wring it out so it's just damp and put it over upper body directly onto skin is best. I was sceptical but I managed an afternoon nap (work nightshifts) when my room was 29degrees.

LittleStarBar · 20/07/2022 04:45

Is it normal for kids to sleep through it?

I've spent 2 absolutely miserable nights with barely any sleep as I just can't get comfortable. Fan is on me but it only gives slight relief as the air itself in the room is soooo warm.

My kids are ok though. Every time I'm up (Pretty much once an hour) I check on them. They both have a fan blowing on them & their skin is warm but they sleep.

I'm not complaining! I would much rather they sleep than me, but they just don't seem to be affected by the nighttime heat!

Oblomov22 · 20/07/2022 05:55

It's been fine here last night, Surrey 19 degrees, lots of rain.

Workyticket · 20/07/2022 06:00

I drifted off smugly last night but was woken at something past 2 by a neighbours alarm going off

Too hot to get back to sleep so I've been watching Netflix

I've got up - looks like there's been a power cut in the night which explains the neighbours alarm. All the clocks are flashing
