Boris voters: On a scale of 1 to 10 how upset are you that he has resigned?

Just that!
If you voted for him in the last GE are you sad to see him go?
Are you glad you voted him in or have you changed your mind about him over the years?

What is the point of this thread?

I think the question is pretty clear!

What is the point of 99% of the threads started on MN?

I am devastated.

not really, just took me back to the happy days at Primary school when one of the receptionists ran into our classroom so we could all listen to Thatcher resign on the radio.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 07/07/2022 11:41

Unless you're in his constituecy you couldn't vote for him so not many of us had that choice

fyn · 07/07/2022 12:05

Its a pretty niche question for the people living in Uxbridge and South Ruislip.

ThreeFeetTall · 07/07/2022 12:18

Are we allowed minus numbers?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 07/07/2022 12:23

You are mixing up the PM with the Tory party. Only the voters in his constituency voted him in. The next GE isn’t due for a couple of years so Boris’s exit might not make that much difference.

I understand what you are saying but many have said that they voted for BJ purely to keep Corbyn out. Voted against their preferred party because they liked another leader more.
You can’t have it both ways.

I vote for the party, not the person.
Many do not.

I suspect that anyone who says they are upset or disappointed will get slagged off.

Someone already posted on FB that they are glad he is going as he prevented them from visiting their dying parent during lockdown - I think any PM would have locked down but I don't think his double standards have done him any good. I am glad we came out of lockdown earlier than many nations and glad that England did not lockdown at Christmas and I believe if Kier had been in, we would have had longer lockdowns and greater national debt.

I have agreed with some of his decisions but not his distant relationship with the truth and the Partygate affair and the Allegra Stratton matter nor Barnard Castle nor the decision to take away the £20 UC uplift.
He brought about his own downfall.

caringcarer · 07/07/2022 13:09

I will be sorry to see him go. I am not in his constituency but voted Conservative and will do so again providing Jeremy Hunt or a Remainder not Conservative Leader. If they were I would not vote.

How many lazy journalists are on MN today?

Nobody can vote for Boris who isn't in his constituency.

EltonsSpareGlasses · 07/07/2022 19:24

Well unless you live in Uxbridge and South Ruslip, you won't have voted for him.

EntertainingandFactual · 07/07/2022 19:25

It’s interesting because I didn’t vote for him and don’t think much of him at all but he can deliver a pre-prepared speech professionally and coherently. If he spoke the way he spoke in his resignation speech every time he opened his mouth I would have more respect for him.

I know what you mean OP - and it doesn’t take a genius to know that people voted Tory (many for the first time) because of Johnson and his ‘charisma’ (for that read racist, xenophobic, sexist lying scumbag).

I am fucking delighted he’s gone. Can I pick a minus number?

Loads of people voted Tory because of Bojo and I doubt all of them gave much thought to the credentials of the MP they voted for so it’s a bit pernickety to keep mentioning Uxbridge & South Ruislip.

It’s a fair and interesting question. I assume people like(d) him for reasons other than his integrity and competence and therefore may still support him as PM.

Unexpecteddrivinginstructor · 07/07/2022 19:36

he can deliver a pre-prepared speech professionally and coherently.

...as long as it involves Peppa Pig World

They did didn’t they?
For many it made no difference at all what name was on the ballot paper, who the local candidate was.
Many people voted for whichever local candidate would result in a win for Johnson.

I fully understand the point about his constituency vote, but you have to be being deliberately stupid not to be aware that in some seats people voted Tory for the first time because Bozo was the leader.

I can not answer your question OP because I would never have voted for the twat and am super happy to see the back of him!
