going to take to delay a period for a holiday, but been reading online it affects your mood badly and makes you depressed. My periods are not that bad so don’t know whether it’s worth taking it or not. Anyone taken this before?

i have taken this a few times, my moods are fine but i do still get a bit of bloating but then i take stuff for bloating and its manageable

MaggieMagpie357 · 05/07/2022 16:57

Didn't have any side effects whilst taking it, but the period I had a few days after stopping was crazy heavy and lasted much longer than usual. I'd have to have a very good reason for taking it again!

There was a recent thread about these. I and several others had bad anxiety symptoms from taking them, they honestly spoiled my holiday last time. I have taken them previously with no side effects.

I felt ok (and I can’t generally tolerate hormonal things) but quite bloated and tender.

My teen DD has taken it twice and been absolutely fine. I've taken it once and was very very tearful!

juzzer70 · 13/07/2022 14:00

I have been using it since last sat, 9th july. Its been horrendous. Only realised after i took the first one this morning that it was that that was making me nauseous! Cramps in abdomin and bloating is awful. Feel very anxious too. Was relieved to find I wasn't the only one. Never imagined I would experience morning sickness again at 51.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 13/07/2022 14:15

I've been on noriday contraceptive pop for at least 5 years straight and it is Norethisterone. Zero side effects.

Im jealous. 😒

Lissyyy · 23/08/2022 16:00

Hi Jenn, how did you get on in the end? Was it awful or would you recommend it?

Jenn500 · 23/08/2022 16:15

It was completely fine. Period just came back a day after I stopped taking them. I would use them again

There's apparently a national shortage at the moment - I'm trying to get some for DD for our upcoming holiday in a few days...

juzzer70 · 24/08/2022 11:45

Hi, i took it just before my holiday in July. Stopped before i even got to Cyprus as I felt so sick. Like morning sickness. Was anxious and had awful pains. All that stopped the day after I stopped taking it. I would take a period over that any day. Never again. I do know loads of people who have no issues though. Thats just my experience.

This product is amazing I've used twice now and happy with results brilliant you can take these tablets to pro long your period if you have a special occasion or holiday it doesn't have to get ruined with your period showing up to stop the fun - healthexpress.co.uk/norethisterone
