Modern bands and artists who could be headlining Glastonbury in 40 - 60 years time

Paul McCartney is 80 and headlined last night - some 60 years after the Cavern Club. A bit like someone who started in 1902 appearing in 1962 as a headline act

So which modern acts do you think will be headlining in 50 years time? Just watching Diana Ross now (playing Baby Love from 1964) Still sounds good.

So a starter..Ed Sheeran? Still doing his stuff

@larkstar thanks for sharing that. She is hugely underrated as a songwriter - I think a lot of people just think of ‘shake it off’ but don’t realise how good she really is. Her lyrics, and in particular her hooks in her songs are amazing - she’s just brilliant.

The only acts I watched at Glastonbury on tv that had any flamboyance and style (a bit different from the norm ) were Jamie T, little simz Yungblud , Foals. They have all been around a while. They all seemed to connect with the audience and had lots of energy.
I wouldn't pay to watch any of them personally myself , but they just stood out to me as having a more unique style than some other artists there and many girl singers seem all the same these days ,they play it too safe sometimes ( maybe they are told to? Or just how they are !)
Not sure who'll stay the distance these days though. I think Ed sheeran might, but he'll just be writing hits for other people over time I think.
We need a new Freddie to come along!
