What are these animal figurines? Google isn't helping!

DD saw a set of figurines in the charity shop.

I think there was about 6.

About 4/5 inches high.

Each one was a woodlands animal dressed in a human outfit. Ceramic/porcelain

The frog had a nightgown on

There was a rat with a flatcap/suit

I think there was a badger

She wanted them and now they've sold and we have no idea what they were. Any ideas?

Absolutely love threads like this, those figurines sound adorable, and I can see why your daughter was drawn to them! Based on your description, especially the frog in a nightgown and the rat in a flat cap, they definitely have that classic British storybook vibe. “The Wind in the Willows” and Beatrix Potter are great shouts, and they’ve both inspired lots of collectible figurines over the years.

Another possibility to look into is animal-themed collectible lines that aren’t necessarily tied to a specific literary work. I recently came across some beautifully detailed animal figurines from Camp Hollow, they’re more whimsical than storybook, but they remind me of the kind of charming, character-driven pieces you described. Might be worth checking out if your DD is still on the hunt for something similar.

You might also try searching terms like “anthropomorphic woodland animals ceramic” on eBay or Etsy, they sometimes turn up older or obscure lines that don’t show up easily on Google. Hope you’re able to track them down or find a set that sparks the same joy!
