I'm stuck at work, listening to a colleague drone on and on, lecturing someone on war stories. Thankfully it's not directed at me but it's been going on for 1/2 an hour literally him wittering on! I think the person he's talking to has said yeah, oh right and I see on repeat to appear interested.......only 4hrs until I can go home!

Birdsong, sheep, seagulls and my tummy making grumbling noises 🙄

Brandnewwoman · 01/06/2022 05:40

Birds tweeting and landing on the roof .
My OH gently snoring ,the crinkling of my sheets and the feathers inside my duvet as I pull it around me for 10 more minutes of lovely cosines before I get up .

ClumpingBambooIsALie · 01/06/2022 05:44

10 more minutes of lovely cosines

That was a bit of a tangent…

Like others, the grumbly deep breathing of a sleeping DP (doesn't quite qualify as snoring), a very far off train rushing by, wind shushing in trees, small tweety birds, wood pigeons and a corvid cawwing

Vampirethriller · 01/06/2022 06:04

The dog dreaming
A tram
My daughter singing to her biscuit
A chaffinch

Solosunrise · 01/06/2022 06:10

My kitchen clock
A pigeon outside
Tummy rumbling

Pollywoddles · 01/06/2022 06:20

My baby breathing, she’s asleep on me
The hum of the Sky box
Tummy tumbling here too

*rumbling

TheGetaway · 01/06/2022 06:22

A pigeon, the odd car.
Something else that’s extremely unusual but potentially outing so I’m not saying

Cakemamma19 · 01/06/2022 06:23

It's 06.21am and I'm led in bed with a coffee. I can hear my 2 year old making sleepy dummy noises, my upstairs neighbours washing machine on spin (how inconsiderate) and the ovens beeping from the bakery behind my flat.

RishiRich · 01/06/2022 06:27

DH snoozing gently.
A peacock. Those things look gorgeous but as soon as they open their mouths...

itsthesoundofthepolice · 01/06/2022 06:27

New being regaled on tarantulas 😩
33mins to go 🎉🎊

An aeroplane, lots of motorbike scooters zooming past, birds singing and someone shouting on their phone about not picking something up because he is going to drink a coffee. My windows are open (shutters closed) and I am directly onto a small side street on a Greek island. It's a very noisy house due to its proximity to the road and the fact that its 6 ft away from a large church. The fun starts when the churchbells ring... The whole house vibrates with the noise 😂😂

RishiRich · 01/06/2022 06:28

Tarantulas 😂

Has this person actually done any work in the past 3.5 hours?

SantaMonicaPier · 01/06/2022 06:29

Birds singing in the garden while I have a coffee in the kitchen. Everyone else is asleep. Bliss!

Gatekeeper · 01/06/2022 06:29

6.27 am. Rain on glass roof, cats eating their breakfast, woodpecker, chaffinches, great tits and song thrush calling outside. Dh farting his way into the room is destroying the bucolic bliss Grin

ObjectionSustained · 01/06/2022 06:39

A fucking house alarm, been going on for a least 15 minutes already. Can't recognise where it's coming from - lovely wake up alarm Angry

picklemewalnuts · 01/06/2022 06:44

A woodpigeon relentlessly complaining 'My toe hurts Betty'
The black bird that's using it's alarm call to ask me for breakfast, cheeky sod.
And the hum of passing cars.

Brandnewwoman · 01/06/2022 06:44

Brilliant !

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 01/06/2022 06:46

The dishwasher droning in the kitchen, a cartoon playing on the telly, DS eating toast and DD chatting away to herself.

itsthesoundofthepolice · 01/06/2022 07:26

@RishiRich no! We work in pairs his poor partner did the majority of the work while listening to his nonsense. Although it was a quiet night so it was minimum effort all round.

Finally home, jammies on, earplugs in.....silence is golden, well until the bin men come and wake me up at 9ish🙄

easyday · 01/06/2022 07:26

Wood pigeon, one of my dogs softly snoring on the bed and the air purifier in the hall. Ah an airplane overhead which is uncommon.
Better than one of my cats who meows very loudly and plays with the blind cord if I ignore him at 4.30am...

coffeecupsandfairylights · 01/06/2022 07:27

The cat snoring, the odd car driving past - otherwise it's blissful silence!

CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 01/06/2022 07:29

DH breathing (softly). The occasional movement of the dog who is waiting outside the door to come in and say good morning. Birdsong. DD still asleep. It's nice and peaceful.
