DH is working both bank holidays and weekend. I'll be keeping kids entertained in the garden if the weather is nice. There is a small funfair coming to the village so may take the kids to that although we are going to Butlins on Monday so may just save the exciting things until then. Sunday will definitely be packing up the car ready for Monday morning

garlictwist · 31/05/2022 14:51

I don't know of any Jubilee events, nor anyone that's going to one.

haven't decided what to do with the time off yet. I think we'll look wherever the weather is best within a three hour drive and go there with the tent!

MegaClutterSlut · 31/05/2022 15:27

Working the next 4 days from tomorrow then on Sunday we're going round a friends for a bbq

AliasGrape · 31/05/2022 15:48

I’m out for lunch and drinks with a friend on Thursday. There is a party/ picnic thing in the park going on nearby with children’s entertainment, music etc but not really DH’s thing so although I’ve suggested he take DD, I think theyll probably have a long walk/ feed the ducks/ run around a field with the ball type day.

Don’t know about Friday, there is an event at the rugby club which we could try but probably will be busy packing/ loading the car to go away on the Sat.

Sat we go to visit family who live in the countryside south of Birmingham, there’s a few of us getting together and will stay over and then on the Sunday we are carrying on further south for a few days by the seaside in Dorset.

We’re missing our street’s party (actually not an official street party as nobody has applied to close it or anything, but everyone will just stick chairs in their front gardens I think). I’m a bit gutted - not because I was that bothered about the jubilee aspect but we do have lovely neighbours. Still prefer to be going on holiday though.

thursday to Sunday going to a motorbike rally in Derbyshire

ItsNotNormalLove · 31/05/2022 16:35

Thursday working, Friday resting from work, Saturday working, Sunday resting from work and getting ready for a longer shift on Monday.

Odessafile · 31/05/2022 16:35

Working. Dp is talking our ukrainian guest to a street party he's been invited to by clients so at least someone will enjoy the weekend.

pastypirate · 31/05/2022 16:38

No bunting here as the kids think it's pointless. Sat the kids are booked into nerf wars and wipeout games.at the caravan park. I think rteres live music on

Davros · 31/05/2022 17:44

Going to the cricket at Lord's Thursday, Fri, sun and maybe Mon. Day off on Saturday to go to my sister's street party then seeing friends later on for a few drinks and toast to Her Maj

FourChimneys · 31/05/2022 18:14

Spending time with my lovely DH and letting the Jubilee happen without us. No interest in it whatsoever and the extra bank holiday day is annoying for my business.

Gingernaut · 31/05/2022 18:18

0600-1400 and having to spend £80 on fucking cab fares, because the buses aren't running early.

User48751490 · 31/05/2022 18:53

Nothing jubilee related.

TreacsPotNoodle · 01/06/2022 12:05

Friday we're going down to a local family friends music festival/ fair

Saturday having some friends over for a bbq and watching the red arrows as we have a good view from our garden

Sunday were taking out son to a birthday party.

I'm really looking forward to a long weekend but not celebrating the royal family at all, I think they're extremely problematic and not worth celebrating with everything going on in the world right now.

Womencanlift · 01/06/2022 12:54

Was debating getting up mega early tomorrow and heading to the Mall to be amongst the crowds for the fly pass. Was thinking same on Sunday for the parade but seeing both the weather forecast and that people are already camping out I don’t think I will bother.

Things are on in the local park and street are having a party

Vampirethriller · 01/06/2022 12:59

It's my usual day off tomorrow but I'm working the rest of it.

Suedomin · 01/06/2022 13:02

Going on holiday to try and forget about all things Jubilee.

rnsaslkih · 01/06/2022 13:04

All working
teens=exams

Bloodybridget · 01/06/2022 13:15

We're going to friends for supper one evening, can't remember which . . Apart from that no plans at all. I'd quite like to see a bit of Jubilee nonsense IRL but DP definitely won't be keen, and I'd probably find it too busy and crowded anyway (we're in London). So will try and watch some stuff on television, Trooping the Colour appeals because of horses.

CatRatSplat · 01/06/2022 13:17

Was supposed to be working but we all have covid so not much - might make an afternoon tea for us at home if feeling better.

NiqueNique · 01/06/2022 13:20

The weather is likely to be awful so we’re staying close to home. We’ve got 50+ spindles to paint (thrice!), and a staircase as well, so we’ll be doing that for some of the time at least.

I’ll make a rhubarb and nectarine pavlova by way of celebration (I’ll get to use my new cake stand and table runner!).

I’m also planning some vaguely jubilee-inspired dinners.

If we get one lovely day we’ll definitely have a picnic. Champagne for me, I think! DH can’t drink as he drives...

I’ll watch all the pomp and pageantry because I love all that. Anything with a sense of passage of time, history and heritage is right up my street (with some caveats but I won’t get into those here!).

I’ll call each of my grown up children for a nice long chat.

@ImInStealthMode Congratulations! Flowers Here’s to a wonderful day! 🥂

Packing for my trip to Paris on that Sunday. I need to pull out my summer clothes, sort them out and wash the ones I'll take with me.

Also, I'm just going to be working. I'm self employed and all my clients are back in NYC anyway, so this is just a regular week for me. I'm definitely trying to get enough work done so I can do only about 10 – 15 hours while I'm in Paris and spend time eating, seeing friends and looking at art.
