Baby porridge was the first thing.

Then we give sweet potatoes with broccoli

Now we puree what ever we are eating

mathanxiety · 30/05/2022 19:31

Baby porridge, mashed banana, unsweetened stewed apple mashed up, mashed sweet and white potatoes, peas pureed in the blender, carrots pureed in the blender.

Pork chop - not intentional!

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 30/05/2022 19:36

Dc1 broccoli, lovingly steamed and given in perfect BLW size florets.

Dc2 melon, first I knew of it was the toddler coming up and complaining that the baby has stolen his melon.

Dc3 had a strawberry shoved in his gob at a few days old by a sibling because he was crying. Not sure what he started stabbing weaning on.

mathanxiety · 30/05/2022 19:40

And yogurt

HorribleHerstory · 30/05/2022 19:41

Another who went straight on to meat in one case, piece of steak. One I think was egg noodles. And one on avocado or maybe melon

HorseInTheHouse · 30/05/2022 19:42

Baby porridge and yoghurt. And we did the spoon, not very trendy!

Ostryga · 30/05/2022 19:43

Dd had Greek yogurt and strawberries I think.

ChocolateHippo · 30/05/2022 19:45

Mashed broccoli. I was really keen with DC and read up on it and a lot of the books said to start with bitter vegetables so they'd develop a taste for them. So we did broccoli, cauliflower, spinach and then asparagus. Didn't work that well...DC still eats broccoli but none of the others 😁!

TeethingBabyHelp · 30/05/2022 19:46

We did veggies only for first couple of weeks, diff veg every day. I think first was broccoli then sprouts, peas, green beans etc etc.

reluctantbrit · 30/05/2022 20:34

Piece of pear, we did BLW

GiltEdges · 30/05/2022 20:41

We tried all sorts of single fruits and vegetables, but the first thing to actually stay in his mouth and be swallowed was greek yogurt.

nearlyspringyay · 30/05/2022 20:41

Tinned pears, can't remember why but it was thing to do at the time.

BEE08 · 30/05/2022 20:43

We have DS purée broccoli as he first food.

SzeliSecond · 30/05/2022 20:45

An iced lolly I was holding whilst talking to a friend 😄 intentionally it was veg

kikisparks · 31/05/2022 07:15

Tomato fusilli pasta and avocado at 6 months (baby led weaning so she has what I have)

BackToTheTop · 31/05/2022 07:50

One of those little yoghurt type things. Petite filous I think

Courante · 31/05/2022 08:06

mashed banana

closely followed by baby porridge (regular porridge oats ground up in coffee grinder - only used for this) made with my milk

DockOTheBay · 31/05/2022 08:13

DD1 was pureed butternut squash. Easy to make it very very smooth and sweet .

DD2 was a handful of blueberry muffin which she grabbed off my plate and ate before I could stop her 😳

Worldgonecrazy · 31/05/2022 08:15

Garlic bread.

we had planned to do baby led weaning anyway ….

Thebeastofsleep · 31/05/2022 09:05

DC 1 was cucumber he stole off my plate. Then sweet potato shepherd's pie because that's what was having for dinner.

DC 2 was watermelon and roast chicken.

Both my kids were weaned on whatever I was eating.

NerrSnerr · 31/05/2022 09:13

My eldest had banana. She's allergic to banana.

MargaretThursday · 31/05/2022 09:36

#1 milk mixed with baby rice
#2 chocolate button given by big sister, second was a lick of ice cream
#3 piece of toast
