Restaurants in London

It's my birthday soon. I would like to go out for lunch in London.

Has anyone been anywhere recently that they would recommend? As it's my birthday happy to pay a bit more. Has to be able to cater for coeliacs. There will be 3 of us. Ikoyi looks nice but not open at lunch on my birthday (a Wednesday)

Love all cuisines except Chinese.

Thanks in advance.

It's staggeringly rare for a restaurant not to be able to cater to coeliacs. My dad eats out in London 4 or 5 times a week without any issues. He does generally avoid Chinese/Thai places though because of soy sauce (but the fancy ones are always able to cater).

Personally, I'd go for the Cinnamon Club.

The Cinnamon club does look good.

Restaurants are definitely getting better at dealing with allergies- as I said it's a relatively recent diagnosis so we are still finding our way.

Love Barrafina.

Italian in Italy are great at accommodating coeliac as apparently its very common there.

I'd expect a high end restaurant to ask about allergies at the start.

I fancy lunch at Mere.

I've been meaning to do this for a while but not got around to it, now it seems the lunch menu has gone 😪

I saw that too @Chewbecca and am kicking myself for not going last year when me and DH were down for a couple of nights.

We had lunch at Sessions Arts Club in Clerkenwell recently and it was lovely. Not sure about the coeliac options though.

As the mother of a coeliac myself (we didn't take DS to lunch at Sessions) I would recommend afternoon tea at Claridges for a treat - they were brilliant with DS and it honestly felt no different to our gluten afternoon tea.
