@TargusEasting

Huish Episcopi - A small village in Dorset or Somerset.

Iceland - when I need peas and fishfingers because I just know they will be perfectly frozen.

There's an Iceland supermarket in Iceland on the road from the airport to Reykjavik. I got a photo as we went past, but didn't get to go in.

Intercourse, Pennsylvania

Ulan Bator - I once met a chap in an airport when I was going to Manchester but he was going to Ulan Bator! So exotic!

Isn’t it Westward Ho!

SprayedWithDettol · 17/04/2022 00:39

@seashaken

Steeple Bumpstead. It sounds like a made up place in a children's book.
I have friends who live there. It’s lovely.

I used to imagine the Azores as tropical islands with white sand beaches and was quite disappointed when I found out that they weren’t.

I've been to The Azores a few times. I now call them The Greys. 🌦

BrassyLocks · 17/04/2022 05:03

Ouagadougou.

willowstar · 17/04/2022 05:06

Nebraska

warofthemonstertrucks · 17/04/2022 07:13

I always wanted to go to Odessa as I just like the way it sounds (and I think it would make a lovely girls name). That seems sad now. Hopefully I will go once this bloody war is over.

Deathraystare · 17/04/2022 07:20

Pratt's Bottom ! Or is it Pratts Bottom? I have been past it a few times.

I want to go to Little Snoring as well! I think there is a big one as well.

Beachsidesunset · 17/04/2022 07:22

The Land of Nod (yes, it's really a place in East Yorkshire!)
Ding Dong, Cornwall.

FelicityPike · 17/04/2022 07:27

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/04/2022 08:11

No one wants to visit Shitterton then?

bigbluebus · 17/04/2022 08:12

I want to go to Little Snoring as well! I think there is a big one as well.
@Deathraystare I have been through Little Snoring many times. There's a beautiful little church (in the middle of nowhere) which is very French in style - and not a lot else. It's 'big brother' is called Great Snoring.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 17/04/2022 08:20

@MaryAndHerNet, Penistone is my nearest town. There is another poster who lives there. I also love very close to a tv mast which is the highest unsupported structure in the UK. Many years ago I went to see a stand up comedian who based his act on “the big erection on the hill” and “Penis Town”. He bombed massively. We’re so over “Penis Town”, it’s not even pronounced like that anyway.

I would like to go to Sixpenny Handley. I have been to Huish Episcopi. It is near that other great place name Curry Rivel. The West Country has some superb place names.

RoseAndRose · 17/04/2022 08:23

Foodie (in Fife)

Been past the road sign a fair few times, but never turned off to see what' it's like

otherbookmarks · 17/04/2022 08:42

Conundrum!

whiteroseredrose · 17/04/2022 08:45

Nempnet Thrubwell. It's in Somerset.

EatsQuorn · 17/04/2022 08:46

Cockermouth go there a few times a month

elQuintoConyo · 17/04/2022 08:53

I've been to Lyminge in Kent (pronounced lim-inge, although mum and I used to put a French spin on it!)

I've been to a village called Das in the Pyrenees, need to Google if there's a place in the world called Boot. Get a photo montage going.

I've also been to very small villages called Gratallops (wolf scratches) and Cantallops (Cry wolf) which we sing loudly as we drive through. There's also a Pratdip nearby, just sounds like something you'd take to a cannibal's house party!

namechangeranonymouse · 17/04/2022 08:56

Lindisfarne
