No biscuits are 'healthy'. Make him buy his own biscuits and do his own research.

HuntingoftheSnark · 03/04/2022 20:19

When DD was small, I used to make biscuits with two ingredients: overripe mashed bananas and porridge oats, small rounds on a baking tray, bake until golden. DD loved them and they weren't unhealthy.

Fig roll

No sugar biscuits Are in poundlands and b and Ms at the minute . They are usually a light blue box but have been rebranded to a red box. They have a range of digestives to chocolate chip cookies. X

FatCatThinCat · 03/04/2022 20:59

Jaffa cake only has 46 calories.

WhatIsThisPlease · 03/04/2022 21:18

Pink & White wafer biscuits only have 50 cals but feel like a treat because they're big Grin

DogandMog · 03/04/2022 22:05

Nairns, 40% lower sugar.

Laiste · 03/04/2022 22:08

I use the low fat (or whatever it is)(the most miserable one) rich tea when i'm dieting.

2 of them is my snack with a cupper if i've got the nibbles.

shinynewapple22 · 03/04/2022 22:16

Rich tea fingers are around 30 cals
each - but I tend to find that eating something like this makes me more hungry

MarmiteCoriander · 03/04/2022 22:22

Which is the healthiest is what way? Lowest in sugar, fat, calories or carbs??? None are healthy! Confused

dementedpixie · 03/04/2022 22:27

Do the no sugar biscuits not contain polyols that can have a laxative effect if you eat too much of it?

LikeACatInTheDark · 03/04/2022 22:30

Yep.

The labelling never specifies how much is too much Hmm

peasandcarrrots · 03/04/2022 22:31

Fruit shortcake are quite low calorie compared to things like chocolate digestive

ReadyToMoveIt · 03/04/2022 22:31

This reminds me of my 6 year old asking me a few days ago ‘what’s the healthiest fruit?’. To which I replied ‘well it depends what metric we’re using… do you mean lowest calorie? Lowest sugar? Highest fibre?’

HomeprideSaucy · 03/04/2022 22:34

Healthy = fig rolls or so I was told by an nutritionist. But that doesn't mean low sugar / low calories; it means they have some nutritional benefit.
Rich teas probably aren't awful; they're a lot less greasy and sweet than even a digestive.
I just buy the biscuits I don't like so I don't eat them. Bourbons and hobnobs - yuk.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/04/2022 22:36

Fig roles are yummy!

SpringHasSprungYay · 03/04/2022 22:37

Skinny cookies are sugar free

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 03/04/2022 22:37

Aldis Party Rings - 28cals each

Looks like he might be right re rich tea!

dementedpixie · 03/04/2022 22:55

Skinny cookies also contain maltitol that can have a laxative effect

TargusEasting · 03/04/2022 22:59

Air Biscuits.

No calories ingested at all.

Crackercrazy · 03/04/2022 23:04

Nairns low sugar biscuits - come in a variety of flavours. Closely followed by rich tea. Low at the sugar levels as opposed to the calories.

Crackercrazy · 03/04/2022 23:04
  • Look at the sugar levels, I meant.
airrrrAIRRRRiELLLL · 03/04/2022 23:08

How about one iced gem? Even better if you bite the iced bit off before giving it to him.

HollowTalk · 03/04/2022 23:08

@LightDrizzle

Rice cakes Sad but they don’t count as biscuits in my book.

Sadly biscuits are the enemy of weight loss as they are so calorific and easy to eat. Rich Tea may be less calorific than a Hob-Nob but they are still highly calorific. He needs to do without biscuits if he can’t restrict himself to one or two max a day.

And yes, I hate you for using the b-word.

Apparently there are only 38 cal in a rich tea biscuit.
