Just don't want to be too flash or too tight so looking for an average figure I guess

Primary school - £10
Secondary (fewer parties) - £20

ZenKaleidoscope · 01/04/2022 18:38

£10

MyHaloSlipped · 01/04/2022 18:39

What age are you buying for? I generally spend around £10 per present for 6 year olds. I Struggle to find anything below £10 anyway (I do try)

extrapineappleonmypizza · 01/04/2022 18:40

I'm going with £15 at the moment. I've based this judged on what other people have bought my child and want to reciprocate.

Shadowboy · 01/04/2022 18:41

It’s hard to find anything half decent for £10 so we’ve being doing about £15

Camomila · 01/04/2022 18:42

I used to always get the 2 for £15 Argos toys but they've stopped doing that so around £8-£10 now.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 01/04/2022 18:42

£5-£10. £15 for a sleepover.

APurpleSquirrel · 01/04/2022 18:42

£10 (primary) unless it's a very special friend, then up to £20.

Echobelly · 01/04/2022 18:44

About £8-10 if it's the period everyone's having parties.

£12-15 when slightly older and not universal invites.

DockOTheBay · 01/04/2022 18:46

I spend about £5-10 but try to buy something with an actual value of around £10-15. For example the argos 2 for £15 often have toys worth £12 or more which you get for effectively £7.50. Recently hobbycraft had 50% off paint your own moneyboxes and craft kits making them around £2.50 so a few of those made a nice little pack

KnowingMeKnowingYouAhaaaa · 01/04/2022 18:48

£5-£10 more £10 recently really, plus wrapping and a card so more like £12. We have 2 young primary aged kids and the kids in both classes have had entire class party's, we'll have attended 40+ party's this past year. So we'll have spent in the region of £500 on party's, frightening!!! We have 3 or 4 some weekends.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 01/04/2022 18:49

£5-£10 depending on whether they are a close friend or not. I tend to buy lots of the same thing when it’s on offer.
£15 if I’m also friends with the mum as well.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 01/04/2022 18:50

I also buy cards in bulk from card factory. I try to work out how many age cards we need but always have spares in. And I buy generic wrapping paper in bulk.

Indoctro · 01/04/2022 18:51

£10

cliffdiver · 01/04/2022 18:52

£10-£15

Pixies74 · 01/04/2022 18:57

Usually £5-10 (usually about £8) but try and buy things when on offer so seem like they're worth more.

APurpleSquirrel · 01/04/2022 19:00

@Camomila

Sainsburys still do the 2 for £15.
popandchoc · 01/04/2022 19:05

Around £10

whoruntheworldgirls · 01/04/2022 19:06

£10-£15 depending on how close friends they are

Southbucksldn · 01/04/2022 19:07

Normally 5-10 on a book or stationary

onemouseplace · 01/04/2022 19:08

@Echobelly

This. Now moving into secondary age and maybe £15-20.
HereWeGoAgain322 · 01/04/2022 22:30

About 15 euro so 12 pound. In general we nearly always end up getting dobble (game as re obsessed with here!) Or humpty dumpty's wall game or kinetic sand. For older children something like charcoals/cool art stuff (all of 14 yo's friends are luckily into art!!)
