@MalagaNights

Ah hello. Nice to see you around!

We fell out over a Norwich Alan Partridge thread.

But then you taught me how to apply eye shadow.

I've stuck around since 2006 but name changed a lot. Mostly on FWR but not sure why as it mostly pisses me off Grin

Oh God, that Norwich spread was the funniest thing ever. And then I went to Tesco in the middle of it and everybody got very cross

Thread. Not spread. And it was Ipswich. Not Norwich.

Yeah but if you weren't in the gang you were just invisible like 🤷

Greensleeves · 27/03/2022 22:22

I'm still here on and off

PacificState · 27/03/2022 22:22

I think it's so big now, posters don't really know each other and aren't able to make allowances when they know someone has had a shit time recently or their bark is worse than their bite, or they have a hair trigger on x subject but are brilliant on y subject. Eg I absolutely loved Franny but there was one topic (can't remember what it was now - something to do with child development?) which she would just always take incredibly seriously and be prepared to have an argument on. But you knew that about her so you didn't take it personal like.

I think you still get some of that here but only in the specialist boards or long-running threads. In chat or AIBU it's just sort of contextless mayhem and not much benefit of the doubt, meaning people are more likely to decide they've been mortally offended by something or other, so MNHQ are constantly being asked to sort it out which must be huge fun

Birdfooddirect · 27/03/2022 22:22

Oh Ipswich, the prostitute?

iCod · 27/03/2022 22:22

I don’t think that mum net is nasty now.

We were pretty brutal back in the day but that was part of the attraction of the site.

Sparklingbrook · 27/03/2022 22:22

Piss?

Yep, desperate for everyone to share their own experiences with piss. It's pretty much weekly if not more. Weird.

Birdfooddirect · 27/03/2022 22:23

This feels like an old people's home with folk chucking in random nuggets

iCod · 27/03/2022 22:23

@Birdfooddirect

Oh Ipswich, the prostitute?
Yes. Was awful. But the furore was hilarious

Grin Yup.

Good to see you back Cod - though still not sure if it is actually you with all the typing being immaculate.

Oh, it's a long time since we've been able to be in a quiche.

2007 here when I needed advice about a prenatal diagnosis. Kid is now starting GCSEs . Many name changes and thank god now for the neuro diverse section, never fitted in on the main boards.

iCod · 27/03/2022 22:25

Who was the young woman who lived in Glasgow who was getting married and we were all a bit suspect about it.

Then she got married and it was all shit

I remember you going to Tescos! And being very cross Blush

I had a real sense of humour failure that day.

But impressed you later forgave me/ didn't give a fuck enough, to teach me about eye shadow Grin

PacificState · 27/03/2022 22:26

I think you'll find the correct term is 'wnaky basket' actually

iCod · 27/03/2022 22:26

To be honest, I’m really crap at eyeshadow

it was so much better back then, nowadays everyone is offended over everything. theres no stoicism!
Greensleeves · 27/03/2022 22:32

@MalagaNights they're huge and hairy Grin

One is at uni and the other is at college...seems like yesterday they were toddlers and I was posting about them on here. I feel really bloody old.
