@Birdfooddirect it’s crazy isn’t it. If someone told me 15 years ago that I would still be hanging around here I would probably have cried. I did leave for a while but came back. It had dumbed down a lot.

Have been here since 2004. Found MN a bit like the weird twins in the Shining tbh. On the left the in-jokes and pile-ins and we'll hellair mwah mwah-ing. On the right truly, marvellously, geniusly funny threads (not the practical joke things, I don't like those, but the brilliantly timed comic posts) that would make your day.

Now it's all just a bit "you looking at? come over here and say that you slaaaaaaag and I'll have you". Confused

What a load of nonsense.

I'm just so much more mindful now of someone recognising me so I change names all the time. You never get that continuity anymore but I do still think it's the best place for on line support and honest opinions. I read so much around Brexit, Covid and now Ukraine - so many brilliant posters in amongst all the drivel.

It's good to see Cod back though as did larf a lot then (more so than now)

I used to be about a long time ago usually under the name Emerald or other similar names. Mary would have been around then.

I'm an empty nester too, thank God!!! MN kept me sane through the early years. I still check in regularly to see what's going on.

But then you taught me how to apply eye shadow.

I've stuck around since 2006 but name changed a lot. Mostly on FWR but not sure why as it mostly pisses me off Grin

Golly. This is a blast from the past! I joined in 2005/2006 (I think) and used to love your posts. I was sorry when you disappeared (you were "outed" by a "friend" I seem to remember?).

No, it's not the same as back in the day when there was robust discussion without so much nitpicking, willingness to misinterpret and downright nastiness. It's a shame really.
