Do you chuck clothes on a chair in the corner of your bedroom?

Random silly first world question but here goes...Does anyone here not have a chair in their bedroom they chuck clothes on before bed?

Am moving to a smaller bedroom with limited space and may not have space for a chair in the new room. I had a rational thought that it won't matter, because when I get undressed at night, my clothes will be either dirty (in which case they go in the laundry basket) or ok to be worn again (in which case they should go back in the wardrobe). The reality is I can't imagine doing this. I'm ok chucking stuff in the laundry but anything that's not yet dirty I always end up chucking over the chair until there's a massive pile.

Is anyone else like this or is my slovenliness beyond the pale?

Mine go on an unused strider type gym thing Blush

Yup chairdrobe is essential, though, hooks on back of door will do at a push if you’ve nothing else to keep there

ufucoffee · 24/03/2022 21:14

No chair. Dirty clothes go on the floor. Clothes to be worn again go on the very large windowsill.

''Do you chuck clothes on a chair in the corner of your bedroom?''

Yes, which is why i got rid of the chair in the corner of my bedroom :)

MrsPear · 24/03/2022 21:24

No room for a chair - we have hooks behind the door.

Laiste · 24/03/2022 21:26

Oh, dirty clothes go in wash basket (outside bedroom in corridor) anything to wear again i sort of fold a bit and put on top of chest of drawers. I'll wear it or put away in the morn.

Chairdrobe

If it slides off it's a floordrobe.

I stick it on the radiator

The teens throw their stuff on the floor

A desk where I'm meant to study

Oblomov22 · 24/03/2022 21:30

Not a chair. A huge leather ottoman at the end of our king sized bed, that we can both fit lots on.

FourChimneys · 24/03/2022 21:33

DH and I have a chair each.

Athenajm80 · 24/03/2022 21:39

Mine go on the sofa I have in my room. The plan was that it would be somewhere for me to sit in my room and read, but I just do that downstairs instead. The cats now sleep on the clothes/sofa so I have to get the cat hair off before wearing them. They love it, a sunny patch on a comfy sofa with extra "padding" from my clothes.

VampireMoney · 24/03/2022 21:39

I don't have a chair in my bedroom, I chuck mine on the bannister at the top of the steps.

mumda · 24/03/2022 21:44

Have upgraded to a chest of drawers to throw clothes on top of.

MintyGreenDream · 24/03/2022 21:45

I've got an otterman

Luredbyapomegranate · 24/03/2022 21:49

Hooks on the back of the door

FinallyHere · 24/03/2022 22:01

Another vote for hooks on the back of the door. Enjoy

eatentoomanygrapes · 24/03/2022 22:03

I don't have a chair so they end up all over the floor 🥴

ToManderleyAgain · 24/03/2022 22:05

A hatstand is also good for this purpose

BlueRabbitWasNaughty · 24/03/2022 22:06

😂 just upgraded to a sofa as the chair wasn't big enough!

Glad to see everyone has the same habits.

bigbluebus · 24/03/2022 22:11

We have a chair for dumping clothes on.
There is also a chair in the guest room. It's only there as I cleared it out of my DMs house after she died. It was virtually brand new and had only ever been used for dumping clothes on so I kept it.
I'm actually thinking of getting rid of it and buying a valet stand instead as that would take up less space.

Frazzled2207 · 24/03/2022 22:13

I have a directors chair that I have had for 25 years which has the purpose of being a chairdrobe. I have never actually sat on it.’

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 24/03/2022 22:15

None of us have chairs in our bedrooms but we do have a set of communal laundry baskets in the spare room which means laundry is separated into blacks, lights, whites, uniform etc at the point it is put into the baskets.

We all have a worn it once drawer for any items worn for a short amount of time that can be worn again. Every half term this gets completely emptied and washed.

I just feel a room feels very cluttered if there are random clothing items put onto a chair. We used to have one but the clothing just piled up.

LegallyBlende · 24/03/2022 22:18

Hooks on the back of the door.

I've tried a "worn once" end of the wardrobe too...it's not fail proof

ImplementingTheDennisSystem · 24/03/2022 22:26

I put dirty clothes in the washing basket and fold any clean clothes and put them in my drawers. I've always been this way. I can't sleep knowing there's piles of clothes on the floor etc
