Do you have fun at work?

Or is your day as dull as dishwater?

Yes, we play stupid made up games, ‘ceiling tile’ was my favourite, basically we batted a beachball between our desks but if you hit a ceiling tile you were out.
We do challenges for planking or wall sits etc
We do experiments like what biscuits make the best straws for tea (twix imho)
Occasionally we have stupid props or costumes delivered and play with them. We had massive papier mache heads for a little while and we would put them on when people were due in for a meeting and then act normally…
We basically piss around a lot but always get our work done and are actually very very good at what we do!

PukkaP · 16/03/2022 20:47

No

Phos · 16/03/2022 20:52

No. I work entirely from home now so there's no interaction with colleagues. I can go into the office if I want to but there's not really any point.

beddygu · 16/03/2022 20:54

yes love my colleagues

VivaLaRaza · 16/03/2022 20:56

I absolutely love my job, mostly because of my colleagues. We’re a tight-knit group and socialise a fair bit outside of work. We all work hard but we have a lot of banter and laughs, so the day goes by very quickly.

newbiename · 16/03/2022 20:59

Can do , depends who I'm working with. Different every day from a team of 16.

gelatodipistacchio · 16/03/2022 21:00

I'm not sure if most people would consider my job fun (it's quite serious/intellectual and political), but I love it and the bants with my colleagues.

Unfortunately I have to move jobs because we have been given a paycut Sad. Last day coming up soon!

DramaAlpaca · 16/03/2022 21:03

Yes, we work very hard but laugh a lot too.

woodhill · 16/03/2022 21:06

Yes, every day is different

Perfectlystill · 16/03/2022 21:17

Yes I love it and frequently laugh so much my face hurts.

I feel very lucky.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 16/03/2022 21:37

Can be a stressful environment (acute psychiatric ward) but as a team we do have a laugh most shifts.

Hawkins001 · 16/03/2022 21:46

Ours is a great cause, overall, it's got good bosses, as with any organisation, some improvements could be improved, but overall in General a lot better than my previous company I was with.

Heatherjayne1972 · 16/03/2022 22:24

No not really. We have to remain professional at all times

megletthesecond · 16/03/2022 22:30

No. Although it's quite chatty and funny when HR aren't in, once in a blue moon.

MrsTimRiggins · 16/03/2022 22:32

Mm it’s okay, we have a laugh here and there despite it being pretty stressful. I’m afraid my previous job has ruined me for all future jobs tho. I worked in a builders merchants and while when I left it was the right thing to do, I miss the guys I worked with so much still, we had so much fun. It was raucous and inappropriate and hilarious and I still feel sad I don’t have that any more. That being said, we are still in touch. I left three years ago, and several of them are coming to my sons christening this weekend. I just miss the ‘bubble’ of working there.

Do you work for Wernham Hogg? Grin
BBCK · 16/03/2022 22:35

Yes. Stressful job but my colleagues are the funniest people I know. When we’re not swearing at some of the stuff we deal with we are laughing our heads off.

Carrotten · 16/03/2022 22:38

Not in my current job, no. And its a big reason why I wont be staying. It makes the day so much longer and more stressful when you cant have a laugh with your colleagues

RaininSummer · 16/03/2022 22:41

There are small moments at the beginning and end of the day but there is actually no time to talk really as we have back to back appointments, rushing to complete admin or have headsets on.

Kite22 · 16/03/2022 23:02

Not lots of 'fun' exactly.
I do have a lovely team, and we laugh readily at a team meeting now and then but mostly there isn't really enough time to be mucking about having a laugh day after day.

dipdye · 16/03/2022 23:03

Dishwater.

But the pay is good, it's full time wfh and I actually do very little.

dipdye · 16/03/2022 23:05

Colleague has set up a shared YouTube channel to upload music videos etc that we like. We're also encouraged to upload ourselves dancing /singing etc, any 'hidden talents' that we may have.

WTAF

Confused

Believe me I have talents, and they'll stay hidden

suzyscat · 16/03/2022 23:05

Yes. I'm out in nature with kids and like minded souls playing, crafting and adventuring. There's a lot of behind the scenes admin but I find that quite satisfying too.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 16/03/2022 23:07

I'm mostly sat on my own - so not then. But I'm my break yes I have fun with my colleagues.

Or if I'm in the mess room for the whole day, I laugh so much my stomach hurts. Love those days.

ImInStealthMode · 16/03/2022 23:09

Loads, but I'm not in a corporate field and am lucky that two colleagues have become my closest friends, and lots of us have worked there many years so have become if not friends then at least close enough to care about each other.
