Is it possible to buy labelled bags to keep bedlinen in?

I am getting fed up raking through unfolding loads of (nearly all one colour) bed linen to find the right size set for each bed. Does anyone sell bags that you can store each set of linen in (duvet cover, pillow cases and bottom sheet) once you’ve ironed it with a label on the bag to say which bed it’s for. Then they could all go in the big storage box where I keep the bedding.

Just put it in the pillowcase?

PartyPlan · 12/03/2022 21:21

Appreciate it might not work if it’s pressed, but I store mine in the pillow case. Probably gets more crushed than you would like though!

WingBingo · 12/03/2022 21:21

They all fit very well in the pillow case!

We have a king bed and single beds. I have 2 piles of bed linen in the cupboard- king and single, so it doesn’t get muddled up

Kite22 · 12/03/2022 21:23

Yup.
Coming on to say you need to put it in the pillow case.

Phormiumjester · 12/03/2022 21:23

Another vote for the pillowcase!

BeforeGodAndAllTheFish · 12/03/2022 21:23

Just put them in the pillowcase.

Separate each set. Fold up everything together apart from one pillowcase. Put the folded up stuff inside the matching pillowcase. Then you just lift out one "packet" as needed.

WhatsitWiggle · 12/03/2022 21:24

I iron mine and then store them in a pillowcase from the set, they don't get creased

GestationalDiabetes · 12/03/2022 21:24

I agree this would be nice.
I bought all single bed stuff in brushed cotton to help me see easily which is which but would like more of a system too , I hate large sheets and not knowing what size they are

BluebellsGreenbells · 12/03/2022 21:25

Yep! I do this too.

DespairingHomeowner · 12/03/2022 21:26

Can you make yourself ‘file dividers’ (from card) to put them in (stacked vertically Marie kondo style Grin

Or put single at front /double in middle/king at back - or top/middle/bottom

Reallybadidea · 12/03/2022 21:28

I'd just buy something like this and write on it with a sharpie

DespairingHomeowner · 12/03/2022 21:29

Otherwise, maybe large mesh laundry bags (the kind for washing bras etc) would do the trick - in a separate colour for each size

I store the linen for each bed in that room which avoids this issue for me

TracyMosby · 12/03/2022 21:30

I also store sets in the pillow case.

AlexaWhatsMyUsername · 12/03/2022 21:30

Pillow case wouldn’t work as I can’t label them! I’d have to take the set out of the pillow case and start unfolding until I find a label that says what size it is. I want to be able to label them

What about buying different coloured sets depending on the size? You could just do the sheets as the duvet is usually easy to tell if it's king/single etc.

Clevs · 12/03/2022 21:33

Where do you keep them? Once they're all folded can't you stack them in size order inside your airing cupboard or wherever you store them? So singles on the top, double underneath and king size on the bottom?

BeforeGodAndAllTheFish · 12/03/2022 21:35

Why have you bought all the same pattern of bedding for all the beds in the house?

Surely you can look at the partner and say, "that's the single bed/double bed/kind".

You put each set together, with a sheet and enough pillow cases for the bed and the duvet cover and put it inside the matching pattern of pillow case.

HalloHello · 12/03/2022 21:35

How many different size beds do you have though?? And how many sets per bed?? Maybe you need to downsize your bedding, I have 1 set for each bed...

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 12/03/2022 21:36

Why not store in the pillowcase and pin a label on?

feministqueen · 12/03/2022 21:37

Posted too soon. I have baskets in my airing cupboard that I put sets in depending on the size. I also only have 2 sets for each size.

I have these but in cream.

Our airing cupboard gets a bit musty so I bought some zip plastic bags from Lakeland and put labels on the front with the size.

I think it was these.

You could order your airing cupboard.

Organise your airing cupboard.

This is mine- the only organised area of my entire house; but it is SO MUCH EASIER than having random bedding sets all bunged together.

Spare bedding in proper storage bags on top, labelled plastic tubs from b&m with everyone’s bedding folded and stashed inside a pillow case, and then about 3 years of loo roll stored beneath.
