Is it possible to buy labelled bags to keep bedlinen in?

I am getting fed up raking through unfolding loads of (nearly all one colour) bed linen to find the right size set for each bed. Does anyone sell bags that you can store each set of linen in (duvet cover, pillow cases and bottom sheet) once you’ve ironed it with a label on the bag to say which bed it’s for. Then they could all go in the big storage box where I keep the bedding.

I do have the same set in both single and double but it is clear by the size difference which is which. How many sizes of bed and sets per size that you can't just recognise by pattern and size?

PrancerFeet · 12/03/2022 21:55

Would you not just know by looking at the pillow case? If not could you put a coloured sharpie dot on the label of the pillow case? I do this with a lot of my dc's clothes as they look so similar.

I just know which bedding is for which bed by the pattern though.

We have 1 super king (our bed) 2 sets
1 King (guest bed) 2 sets
2 x single beds (one for each teen) 2-3 sets each
(Plus a small amount of older/spare bedding - for sleepovers etc - probably not complete sets but some pillow cases, couple of duvet covers and maybe a sheet.)

It is almost all White Company (I like white bedding). Some with thin border colour which isn’t easily visible when in the box folded up with all the rest but mainly plain white in slight texture variations.

I’d like just like to put each set in a bag/packet with OUR BED, GUEST BED, CHARLOTTES BED etc clearly on it.

Would this work - clip labels to bags? www.etsy.com/uk/listing/485896427/simple-to-attach-snap-on-labels-that
www.soakandsleep.com/cotton-storage-bags.html

Or a simple thing that I do (I only have Kingsize and Double) is to cut a 'V' out of the end of a Kingsize labels. It kind of looks like a 'K'. This wouldn't help with storing them. But is quite handy if they end up drying together and get mixed up.

We keep each set in it’s pillowcase in the appropriate bedroom. Towels in the airing cupboard colour coded by bathroom.

HedgehogDay · 12/03/2022 21:59

Store inside the pillow case for that set - but turn the pillowcase inside out and write on the label with a pen that won't wash off. Or, get a label maker that makes iron on fabric labels and make your own customised labels that you iron onto the inside of the pillowcase.

mizzo · 12/03/2022 21:59

Could you buy different colour pillowcases for each size/room and use those as purely as storage for the whole set?

Cleanbedlinen12 · 12/03/2022 22:01

Why oh why don’t they put the size on the sheet?

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 12/03/2022 22:02

Pillow case wouldn’t work as I can’t label them! I’d have to take the set out of the pillow case and start unfolding until I find a label that says what size it is. I want to be able to label them
I pin brown card tags to mine. Simples.

You can buy drawstring cotton bags on Etsy with any text you want on them:

Buy a load of cheapo white or even coloured pilllowcases? Choose a different colour for each person then stick the sets inside that.

If you want to label them use a laundry marker to write on the cheap pillowcases.

5zeds · 12/03/2022 22:03

I used to iron and then hang them over a hanger like trousers and just put them in the wardrobe of the room they fitted.

This is a great idea!

Name label ironed on the pillow case - inside the flap - you could even colour code instead

Now that is a very good and brilliantly simple solution!

Well, in that case, why didnt you just get extra white pillow cases and use a fabric pen or sharpie to write on the case what size is in it.

I was going to suggest that. Tbh that would probably be cheaper than any other options. Wilko for example have two for £3.

I ordered sets of iron on clothing name labels. My 'children' are called Single Bed, Double Bed and Kingsize Bed. One label ironed onto every sheet and duvet. I cannot believe how much easier this has made identifying sheets and duvet covers.

Some brilliant ideas on here I’m going to borrow!

Best idea yet! I’m ordering these.

MMAMPWGHAP · 13/03/2022 15:42

I actually made my own years ago and wrote on them with fabric paint. eg Flat Single, Fitted single. I also write the sizes (eg KS) on the sheet labels.
