It’s not your Leap Year birthday

Why are you celebrating today? You were born the day after February 28th!
So either 29th February or 1st March.

OP posts:
Aroundtheworldin80moves · 28/02/2022 09:16

Using that logic they were born the day before the 1st March, I.e. 28th or 29th February.

Sockpile · 28/02/2022 09:17

Makes more sense to celebrate in the month you’re born, so 28th Feb.

xxxsuper · 28/02/2022 09:19

I think it's fine to choose when to celebrate your own birthday if you only get an actual birthday every 4 years. Why do you care?

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 28/02/2022 09:19

Yep, I agree with pp they were born in Feb therefore it makes sense to celebrate in that month!

ComDummings · 28/02/2022 09:19

Both days are fine to choose.

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2022 09:22

28/2 is fine and makes sense.

LoopyDream · 28/02/2022 09:24

Who pissed in your cornflakes?

PurpleDaisies · 28/02/2022 09:25
Biscuit
JawboxGinger · 28/02/2022 09:26

Did someone say this to you, OP?

BlibBlabBlob · 28/02/2022 09:26

Born on the last day of February. In 2022, that is today. Therefore today is the birthday of everyone born on 29th Feb.

Also, why the fuck do you care so much OP? ;-)

Choice4567 · 28/02/2022 09:27
Hmm
FelicityPike · 28/02/2022 09:32

My MIL is a leap day birthday. When she was born her parents were given the choice of 28 feb or March 1st. They chose the 28th, but when it’s a leap year she celebrates on the 29th. Last leap year we held her 18th birthday party 😁

KevinTurvysGravy · 28/02/2022 09:48

My cousin was born on 29th and celebrating today…

EthelTheAardvark · 28/02/2022 09:59

@Aroundtheworldin80moves

Using that logic they were born the day before the 1st March, I.e. 28th or 29th February.
But they weren't born the day after 27th February.
xxxsuper · 28/02/2022 10:01

But they weren't born the day after 27th February.

They weren't born on any of the days.

SpinsForGin · 28/02/2022 10:02

Apparently if you were born before midday you celebrate on the 28th Feb, after midday it's 1st March......that's what my friend with a leap year birthday told me.

IstayedForTheFeminism · 28/02/2022 10:03

But they weren't born the day after 27th February

They weren't born the day before 2nd March either.

xxxsuper · 28/02/2022 10:06

I know someone who was born on Christmas Day but his parents gave him a 25th November birthday, so a whole month early, every year. The only time it was ever a problem was a few years back when he turned 18 and had to wait until his actual birthday to go out and celebrate Grin

Sfumato · 28/02/2022 10:07

Do you mind me asking whether people quickly cross the road when you heave into sight with your ‘Gotcha!’ conversational gambits, OP?

steff13 · 28/02/2022 10:08

Why not celebrate on February 28 and March 1? Be radical and have two birthdays.

Hmum0three · 28/02/2022 10:09

I was born in the early hours so closer to 28th than the 1st, what do you think about that one op Hmm

coldandverytired · 28/02/2022 10:09

My Dd celebrates her ‘being x years old’ day on the 1st March- mainly because we’re welsh and it’s David’s day so she can stuff herself with Welsh cakes 😂

coldandverytired · 28/02/2022 10:11

Should also say that last year she did wangle a 2 day celebration because we had visitors and it was a weekend.

Floydthebarber · 28/02/2022 10:11

Isn't that the joy of a leap year birthday? Choosing February or March as 3 out of 4 years the day you were born is literally not available?

GoogleWhacked · 28/02/2022 10:19

@Aroundtheworldin80moves

Using that logic they were born the day before the 1st March, I.e. 28th or 29th February.
🎤 💧

(My attempt at mic drop OP 😝)

And I really want to know why OP is so upset about it?
