Matching mugs

I am about to move in with DP. One of us thinks it's imperative to have matching mugs (for when visitors come around but also as a general preference). The other prefers non matching sometimes novelty mugs and has an extensive collection. Who should win in the mug war? And if we can't agree on this, should we even move in together at all??

I don't see why you can't have both.
I've got a set of matching ones which I occasionally remember to use when people come round but Ilke the mugs that are related to memories - either who they were from or where they are from.
Also, crucially, different drinks suit different mugs - I don't drink my tea out of the same thickness of mug as I drink my hot chocolate from.

I don't tend to like matching anything. So wouldn't have matching cushions etc either, although yes they are co-ordinating i suppose.
Mugs, a mixture of a couple of sets, and some other nice individual ones I've picked up or been given along the way.
The kids also have their own, that they've chosen or have come with Easter eggs! Can't imagine being that joyless.

We like novelty mugs but we also like matching mugs so I just buy 2 of the same novelty ones. We have pokemon ones, ones that are shaped like beehives, gromit mugs, its great fun!
