When Dd was about two she said to my Mum ‘I think my Mummy really likes you.’ My Mum told me she said it, and yes I do really like my Mum - and Dad.

My now 12yo told me when she was about 4 or 5 that if there was a shop where she could go to buy another Mummy, that she wouldn't need to go as she already has the best mummy..

And my son, at 8 years old told me I have the hardest job of all.......helping Daddy keep finding his phone Grin

Clarabellawilliamson · 02/02/2022 14:45

When turning right out of a busy junction on the way home from nursery, my son would cheer and say 'hooray, you did it mummy! Woo hoo!' And it always makes me smile.

@IKeptYouLikeAnOath

I grabbed my son (9) for a quick hug last night and he totally fell into it and just rested against me for a while, then said, almost to himself 'that's exactly what I needed, a Mummy cuddle' and I may have had something in my eye...

It just blew into my own eye reading this 💞

roarfeckingroarr · 02/02/2022 14:52

I'm weeping reading these. I'm so looking forward to my baby being able to speak properly. He's currently 15 months and doesn't want a cuddle because he can walk on his own and wants to explore everything.

Nutsohazelnuts · 02/02/2022 14:59

I’m lovely and squishy like a bouncy castle, according to DD aged three.

Daddy, however, is hard and not comfy.

Jayneisagirlsname · 02/02/2022 14:59

My now teenage ds wrote in a Mother's Day card 'Whenever we go somewhere, I will love your smile all the way to that place and back again'.

I think he was about 7. I keep that card in my bedside table for when he's being teenagerish!

IKeptYouLikeAnOath · 02/02/2022 15:02

Oh that's sweet.

When DS was about 6 he was going away for a few days with my parents, and left me a note that said 'I miss you Mummy. I love you just how much as you love me'.

Christ now I am crying ☺️

CeratopsofthePharoahs · 02/02/2022 15:07

I have a regular thing with ds2 who is 7. He comes up to me and says "Mummy, you're the best!" so I say "No, you are!" then he says "No, you are." and we carry on till one of us (usually me) gets tired.
I am, according to him, the best mummy in the universe.

PinaColadaNeeded · 02/02/2022 15:08

I over heard my 3 discussing why my homemade cooking tasted better than shop bought/school or takeaway....my 8 yo piped up "because its made with love!"

My heart swelled.....

Carriemac · 02/02/2022 15:23

My 22 year old DS who has recently moved out for good cake hole at Christmas and said how much he really appreciated the stable and happy home he had been brought up in.

TildaRae · 02/02/2022 15:25

I love you more than a mouse love cheese. From my 4 year old.

nopuppiesallowed · 02/02/2022 15:27

Slipping sideways a bit from this thread, but as a teacher of a class of 6 - 8 year olds, one delightful child drew a picture of a bathroom with a couple in the bath and underneath wrote 'I know my mum and dad love each other because they bath together'. I'm not quite sure how it happened but the picture happened to be on the display wall on parents' evening .........

lisaandalan · 02/02/2022 15:28

My son saw a deflated ballon all wrinkled and said mummy that looks like your tummy. 🙈🙈

TulipVictory · 02/02/2022 15:28

My four year old went to boots with my Mother (her Nan) the other day. My Mum said when they were at the makeup counter she had said "my Mummy keeps her eyelashes in her drawer".

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 02/02/2022 15:29

My teen dd (who has had a tricky couple of years) replied to a comment I made about all the mistakes I made with her growing up that she couldn't think of any mistakes.

It really meant a lot to me.

SartresSoul · 02/02/2022 15:29

I asked 3 year old DS how old he thinks I will be when it’s my birthday at the end of this month earlier and he said 21 Grin.

IKeptYouLikeAnOath · 02/02/2022 15:29

A bit outing but my son told his whole school during assembly that I make 'adult movies'.

I do not Grin

A few weeks ago my three year old gave me a hug and said "Mummy, I am so proud of you!" Grin

My DS when he was 6 told me ‘I love you more than PostNord loves stealing Thor’s hammers’

PostNord are the postal service here and he had been sent a Thor’s Hammer for his birthday from family. We had paid the import tax, but never ended up receiving the hammer. He has been convinced ever since that they stole it. He still talks about it now and he’s nearly 10.

KitBumbleB · 02/02/2022 15:36

Reminded me of another one, DD roped me into playing Roblox with her, and then told her teacher that "mummy pretends to be a child online"

dancingthroughthedark · 02/02/2022 15:37

My grandson told me in the olden days I would have been drowned as a witch as that's what they did to crazy people!
As a teacher one of my favourite comments was from a small child who told me Mummy doesn't let Auntie C in the house anymore because she is just absolutely poisonous!!

thefamous5 · 02/02/2022 15:37

My son, who was three at the time, saw I was upset after the death of a family
Member. He climbed into bed with me and told me he was going to cuddle me forever.

IKeptYouLikeAnOath · 02/02/2022 15:38

Oh that's adorable @thefamous5
