Please tell me I'm not the only one whose hayfever has started already?

Swollen itchy eyes since yesterday. Couldn't figure out why. Then I realised it's 1st Feb today. Last year my hayfever started on 11 Feb. Argh.

At least it means Spring is on the way.

Am I the only person to get hayfever so early?

(Yes it's definitely hayfever. No it's not covid.)

@GTAlogic

Well you show your ignorance about hayfever then its not about flowers, its grass and tree pollen too and of course it starts earlier if winter has been mild. Op suffers from hayfeved I think she is best person to distinguish what's hayfever or not compared to you who doesn't even know it properly. Yet you somehow think you know better

Where did I say I knew better? I made a suggestion, without rudeness or malice or any thoughts of superiority.

Lol I didnt sta you did say anything malicious but your definitely ignorant about hay-fever to not even know tree pollen affects people. Therefore you came to give advice or suggestion when you don't even understand what the op is talking about.

I wouldnt go on a thread and comment about someone's medical issue if I never suffered from it myself or didn't know everything about it.

Thats why your ignorant. There is more to life than covid! Not everything is covid

some people may well dismiss covid symptoms as hayfever

Whereas I dismissed my hayfever symptoms as covid and was merrily taking every covid test under the sun before I read this thread and remembered about tree pollen - feeling so much better after taking a shower and a few squirts of Avamys up each nostril!!

I wouldnt go on a thread and comment about someone's medical issue if I never suffered from it myself or didn't know everything about it.

I do suffer with hayfever and therefore am well aware of the causes and, having asthma that is exacerbated by pollen, I am most definitely not ignorant! I have not, in any of my posts on here, stated that I did not believe the OP or that I think flowers are the only cause. I mentioned flowers and spring because where I am (and yes, I do realise that not everywhere is the same as here) there are no signs of either: the grass is still short and not yet appearing to grow, our hazelnut bush is still bare, there are no blossoms on the trees and there are no catkins on the trees overhanging the pond down the road. Because of this, I merely suggested that there may be another cause of OP's (or other pps') symptoms.

I apologise if this came across as rude or dismissive for that was not my intention.

I'm having a great time Sad Sneezing every time I go outside, one watery eye and my asthma wheeze is back today even though I'm doing my inhaler twice a day. So I'm taking Fexofenadine daily again. Dh slept in the office I snored so loud too. I slept like a starfish Grin.

I use Dymista nasal spray. It's a prescription antihistamine and steroid. I also spoke to the GP today and got prescribed antihistamine eye drops as well as my eyes are starting to swell up like golf balls again. I look seriously ugly this time of year...

I've always managed in the past with OTC hayfever meds but after having covid last year I had the most horrendous hayfever. I spent 3 months not going outside or opening any windows as my face would instantly swell up and my eyeballs turn to jelly. I hadn't realised before that quite how serious hayfever can be.

Ah I’ve started sneezing and coughing, thought it might be a cold. The weather has been milder than it should this winter.

Live in Canada and this is honestly one of the main bonuses about the harsh winter, hay-fever starts late.
