Period pants- anyone use them?

Hi everyone, I’m wanting to make a more eco friendly decision when it comes to period. I like the idea of period pants, has anyone used them? Does anyone have any recommendations on brands as well?

I know cheeky wipes do some for a reasonable price but unsure if they are any good?!

Dd has just started her periods and I got her the Primark ones. She has dyspraxia and I knew she wouldn’t cope well with pads. So far so good, wish they were around when I was that age.

I use Cheeky Wipes ones and they are fantastic. When I decided I wanted to be more eco-friendly with my period protection I got some reusable pads and some knickers. They are both so much better than disposable but I do find myself reaching for the pants more

I think they're genuinely life-changing for a lot of women! I really rate the Cheeky Wipes lace-topped ones although I find they come up a touch small. It's true they're slow-ish to dry but I don't use the tumble dryer much anyway. I use them with a Tulip cup and you'll have to prise them from my cold dead hands.

@AdultCat you buy the right ones for your flow. I have really heavy flow (super tampon once an hour) so I use the heavy flow 24 hr ones from modibodi. They last me 12 hours, would probably last longer but I put fresh pair on in morning & again before bed.

@Pixilicious

Does anyone use a reusable liner? I have some modibodi and primark knickers, both of which are great, and cheeky wipes reusable towels but I find the towels bulky and could do with something equivalent to a liner.
Check out honouryourflow for these. They have a big range and are better than cheaper ones. I love the night time ones too, never need to worry about leaks @Pixilicious

I have floweret period pants- 95 percent cotton so no thrush etc, not bulky at all, and I just wash and tumble dry with a dark load. I love them - absolute game changer. I use with a reusable pad on a heavy day/night but otherwise just put them on and forget about it. I do a close contact martial art and have never had any issues with leaking/moving etc. I did have some cheeky wipes pants but I found them a bit sweaty and then I melted them in the tumble drier.

I have some Flux ones and they are amazing. However, I have issues with controlling my weight and my period pants don't fit me anymore!!

MidSizeMillie · 30/01/2022 19:14

Yes, I use modibodi, cheeky wipes and wuka. I think wuka are my favourites, but they're all pretty good. I've not tried them, but there are also some cheap ones at Sainsbury's which are meant to be alright

MilduraS · 30/01/2022 19:44

@Pixilicious if you like fun prints then I'd recommend the liners and pads from Aunt Irma's. They're made by a woman based in Norwich and they're fab. They always cheer me up.

FurbleSocks · 30/01/2022 20:17

My Cheeky Wipes are good for the days before and towards the end of my period plus good to absorb sweat at the gym!

For heavy days I use Modibodi 24 hours heavy flow (still change every 8 hours through choice).

A mix of styles and you're good to go!

nutmegx · 06/02/2022 14:41

My DD started her periods a month ago and used these. It's a big thing for a young girl but she likes Modibodi which takes the stress and faff away. She had a school trip and managed her period confidently with the pants. I wish they'd existed when I was starting out! She loves that there's less environmental impact too.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 06/02/2022 14:55

I've got the M&S ones for heavy flow.

They wouldn't keep up with my heavy flow for more than a couple of hours, but they're good at the beginning or end of my period. In the middle I use a cup as well.

Also - I have some more expensive pairs from ModiBodi or similar (can't remember) and I don't like them. They're made of like a swimsuit type of fabric rather than just soft cotton which the M&S ones are.
