What jobs do you enjoy doing in your household that no one else does?

I like cleaning the Guinea Pigs cage out. I do it once a week while they have their run around time inside. I always take it outside to clean and get great satisfaction giving them nice clean bedding and hay. I like being outside too. I’ve got it down to a fine art now.

DH and DD hate doing them but I love it.

Put a wash on
Change the beds
Change the cats water
Empty / clean cats litter tray
Put clean clothes away
Clean windows
Hoover / dust

Laundry! Hanging on the line.
I search for washing when the weather is nice.

I also love proper deep cleaning, organising etc.

Cleaning the bath and sink
Brushing the cat

I bleach things. I love bleach.

I like creating order. Taking a messy house and making it clean. Just not every day!

Dusting - really love it 🤪🤪🤪

I like doing laundry. I don't like it if anyone else in the house gets involved as they create more work by not hanging the clothes right or mixing colours with whites. I do enjoy generally cleaning and organising. I love going through the kids clothes and sorting what doesn't fit anymore and getting the next size up out for the youngest from my store of clothes.

No one else does the garden other than me too. I think of it as exercise which I find very enjoyable.

Lol. I did think you must adore housework and if you’d like to pop round and do mine, given how much you like it!

There is no job I like except doing the Christmas dinner

Organising the kitchen cupboards is my favourite job. Drives my family mad because I keep moving things and they can’t find anything 😂

I like ironing.
It is a job with a clearly defined start and finish.
I move items from one side of the ironing board to the other, so the 'to do' pile goes down while the 'done' pile grows.
Some things are just very satisfying to flatten eg. Pleayed facemasks.
Having said all that, I don't iron fitted sheets or duvet covers - I hate those!

What a great thread 😁 It's amazing how positive these jobs can be for some.
I tend to enjoy the end result more than the process - getting into bed when I've put on fresh sheets. I also like sorting & decluttering.

I bloody love hoovering. I save it as my Reward Task when I've done all the other things I don't really like. I've been known to get cross with DH for doing it when I'm not there to stop him.

Also, bleaching the sink. So satisfying to see it all clean and white any shiny afterwards.

I like doing the food shopping order, going through the cupboards to see what we need and writing it in the list, then sitting down and doing the actual order. Just don’t like putting it all away the next day.

I only like doing the big jobs that don't get done as often like the tops of the kitchen cabinets.

Having said that I don't like doing the ovens ever!

Tbh I don't really like housework, I'd love to clean other peoples houses though 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cleaning the fridge makes me feel great.

Wow. None of these. Its all just chores.

Picking up toys and clearing them away! I hated it before but now its like... calming 2 kids under 5 soo lots of blocks and noisy things lying around!

DH and I do the bedding together. It somehow feels cosy, calming and happy - and there’s not a lot that’s better than getting into a lovely fresh bed!

I love and loathe dusting/polishing in equal measure - I put it off and put it off and will do almost anything else for days and weeks on end to avoid having to do it. But then, when each room is beautifully dust free, fresh and exactly ‘right,’ I feel so happy and contented. I always think, I should just do this every few days!

Cooking. Also laundry is on.

DH likes washing up

Pulling a load of hair and gunk out of the bath plug hole. I need help, I know.

This is basically a list of all that I detest.

If there is a blocked drain I will fight to get at it first.

I don’t get it either 😂 Although I do enjoy making dinner as I stick something on to watch in the background and it oddly feels like ‘me’ time
