What's it called where different food is served all together (no separate plates)

I'm sure there's a name for it. Everything is just squished together regardless of what it is.

Someone tell me before I go insane!!

Emmelina · 27/01/2022 16:35

emmathedilemma · 27/01/2022 16:37

grazing table aka a buffet without serving plates.

Makinglists · 27/01/2022 16:37

A la russe or something similar. Russian style I think it was a victorian and earlier style

IHateWasps · 27/01/2022 16:39

Smorgasbord?

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 27/01/2022 16:40

The floor after my toddlers finished?

Grazing board/table and I hate them. I don't mind a little one for myself but have seen too many dirty bastards at a buffet to trust it remains clean.

trumpisagit · 27/01/2022 16:40

Really gross?

VeronicaVanHoopen · 27/01/2022 16:41

In a hotel/restaurant it would be called plated service I think.

Joxster · 27/01/2022 16:41

Buddha bowl?

WelcomeEverythingIsFine · 27/01/2022 16:43

Mezze??

CathyorClaire · 27/01/2022 16:44

A dog's dinner?

IncompleteSenten · 27/01/2022 16:48

Do you mean different dishes on plates all next to each other like tapas or a buffet?

Or do you mean everything on one massive 6 foot plate?

AlexaShutUp · 27/01/2022 16:49

My vote is for smorgasbord.

Oddbutnotodd · 27/01/2022 16:50

I low-key want to know if any of these are correct Blush

BarbaraofSeville · 27/01/2022 17:10

I think the OP is asking about a grazing table.

Some of them look quite nice in the photographs, but you just know that it will look like a dog's dinner once people start digging in.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 27/01/2022 17:11

TenPenceMix · 27/01/2022 17:25
