Why has all the press coverage of our corrupt government suddenly ceased?

I don't mean petered out, the way it usually does, it feels as though it has just suddenly stopped, from one day to the next.

Why isn't he resigning? What will it take for us to demand better from the people who are put in office for us and subsidised by us to do a job? We just don't seem to care anymore and every day they push the boundaries of acceptable behaviour further and further.

I know the running joke within the civil service is how short the public's memory is but surely we don't just move on from one day to the next?

I feel like starting a petition - is there a petition anywhere? I don't even know what I'd be asking for. Alexander de Pfefferwhatever out? And all his cronies? More transparency? Basic common decency? The introduction of proportional representation? I mean how broken does our system have to get before we stop looking at utterly corrupt dictatorships elsewhere and thinking "at least we're not...." ?

Like a dropped ex with the cold revenge

Maybe they had to spend so much on decorating because Teresa May sewed prawns into the curtains and hid kippers under the sofa.

We are really screwed as a nation aren't we. I mean I'm sure politics all over the world is like this but for some reason I really thought we were a bit-I don't know-more honourable-Now I just think it's all fucked up.

I'm glad they've shut up about it actually. On Saturday evening I watched Channel 4 news as I wanted to find out about the huge volcanic eruption in Tonga and the tsunami.

20 minutes of infernal yackety-yack and opinions about Boris and co, and the biggest global news story that day? About 30 seconds.

Oh good lord. I've just seen Nadhim Zahawi claiming the various announcements can't be for distraction, because "You can't just magic up policies over a weekend."

Erm, you realise that's exactly what the Johnson govt does?
