AIBU to declare this is the best toast ever?

I am having toasted soda farl for supper. It is far better than any fancy new sourdough bread. It's available in most supermarkets in England but no one I know eats it. I have cold melting butter on it.

Can anyone recommend better?!

Veda. Makes the best toast.

Soda fried in butter with sausage and scramble egg. Breakfast of champions!

Soda is a norn Irish thing. Legendary!

I first tried it when I was living in the US in the eighties, they call it Irish soda bread and it is the bomb!!

Various standard brown seeds etc ok. Sourdough DH makes v nice.

But what I love most of all from time to time is a pile of crispy bacon in between two thick sliced vv soft mainstream bog standard white.

Oh yes I absolutely love Potato Farls. Soda farls were known as soda bread to me years ago and both my Northern Irish and Scottish grannies had a version of them.

But the best bread in the world is wheaten. No contest.

If you like a crumpet do try it within butter, marmite and philly. It’s a taste sensation, that I am eating right now.

These used to be sold in our local Tescos (in England) alas no longer. I LOVED them. English muffins are my replacement bread item but I wish we could still get Farls!

I forgot about Veda. Haven't had it years but don't think I can get it in England.
I have both soda bread and potato bread for a cooked breakfast for DC tomorrow.

Just make your own buttermilk by adding lemon juice to normal milk.

Soda farls, potato farls and wheaten (brown soda bread) are GOD TIER.

Back in the days before English super markets sold them, our NI family used to bring a suitcase of bread over for our freezer every time they visited 🤣

My family love eating crosta and mollica pane pugliese toasting bread - truly divine! I've never tried a farl, I'm adding it to my 'things I need to physically buy' list as Ocado don't have them.
