I don’t think it’s sustainable if you follow the weird recipes and view certain foods as a sin. They also seem to push low fat/low sugar foods such as Muller Light yoghurts. I know someone who was having 3 every day as she said you could have unlimited on SW. Full fat Greek yoghurt with some berries would have been a much better option as it would have been nutritious and filling.

A much better way is to download My Fitness Pal to log all your food. As long as you’re in a calorie deficit (burning more than you eat) you will lose weight. No foods are banned but it really helps you see what you’re putting in your body and that you need to make healthy choices most of the time to provide a calorie surplus to have treats. It also got me exercising more as I knew if I burned say 300 calories on a walk I’d be able to have a small glass of wine that evening.

I love Slimming World! I've lost 3 stone since April.
I don't record my food anymore because I now naturally eat on plan. I'd buy the recipe books if you do join as I think you'd slip too easily without them. I never did the group I just joined online.
The meals are delicious! They are just normal meals with ingredients substituted or making sauces from scratch eg making bolognese from scratch. Most meals only take 30-40 mins. I also have a packet of crisps and chocolate on my syns every day so I don't miss anything. Another tip is to follow other people doing slimming world on Instagram.

I enjoyed SW for the most part. I lost almost 3.5 stone then took up weight lifting. I put on half a stone but dropped a dress size in 6 weeks before giving up on SW. SW is too concerned with the scales rather than inches.

I still use some SW recipes but some of them are a bit silly....like bread roll with jam in to make healthy donuts is a bit Hmm

I've since joined Joe Wicks 90 day plan. I've not stuck to that religiously but lost weight on it. Nowadays I tend to use a mix of Joe, SW and common sense (smaller portions, cut out the junk, etc).

I’ve only ever seen that in non slimming world Facebook groups, pinch of nom I’m pretty sure it was had people going nuts over them and I was looking at it going, eh? That’s a roll with jam... I mean, perfectly fine, but it’s not a doughnut, lol

I've been on SW since October, I've never eaten a MullerLight!

The only person who controls what goes in my mouth is me. If I try to trick myself into eating shite because it's free or low Syn then I can't blame SW for that can I? If I stop doing SW and put the weight back on then how is that SW's fault? If I'm losing weight, and I am, then it's working. I know that to maintain the correct weight then I can't go back to my old habits because they're what led me to be overweight.

Let's say I buy a face cream, my skin looks amazing when I'm using it, then I decide it's too expensive and stop buying it. If my skin doesn't look as good now whose fault is that? Should I blame the manufacturer?

Someone up thread saying SW recipes contain artificial sweeteners, what were you cooking/eating?
I cook (mostly) from scratch, I haven't used sweeteners in anything.
