Help me find a new kitchen gadget

We have a big gadget cupboard. We love them. In recent years we've had a cheque from a relative for £100 which we've spent on a new gadget. Last year was a Velvetiser.

We have an Instantpot, Magimix, air fryer, panini maker, ice cream maker. We tried a George Foreman grill but didn't like it so it went back.

Any suggestions what we can get? It doesn't have to be for the kitchen, I guess. We have Alexas and home plugs. We can top up the £100, if needed.

I'd put it towards a Ninja. Love ours and use it multiple times a day.

I am coveting a dehydrator. Haven't quite jumped into buying one yet as still researching but love the idea of drying my own fruit, making jerky, fruit ribbons etc.

Mabelface · 14/01/2022 10:05

Coffee grinder and reusable pods.

cooldarkroom · 14/01/2022 10:16

Dehydrator is brilliant, cheap as chips & makes fantastic dried fruit, apple/banana slices, plums/apricots for snacks and muesli etc
We dry sausages, to make saucisse seches.
Dry wild mushrooms (cepes/bolets)
Tomatoes for confit in olive oil.
The nice thing being we have most of these fruit & veg growing in the garden

dd got a crepe maker for Christmas. Fun to use and also good for things like quesadillas (which she loves)
I got a soup maker - agree it is easier than using instantpot / stick blender combination.

Waffle maker - surprisingly good .

Agree. We have some fancy Japanese knives that are a PITA as they don't go in the dishwasher, but are amazing to use
I spent the £100 I was gifted last Christmas on a single knife.
It is treated like Royalty.

From Lakeland A Remouska. Small 'dutch oven' type of gadget. It can finish off a roast dinner with veggies in the time it takes my oven to heat up. Cooks at 180c and runs off a 13amp plug. Best gadget I've ever bought

BlancheB · 14/01/2022 11:33

Candy floss maker. Smile

JakeyRolling · 14/01/2022 15:00

Not a gadget as such, but Souper Cubes are awesome for freezing sauces into little "bricks" that can then be stacked in a freezer. Takes up less room than jars/bags

Knotnowdear · 14/01/2022 15:08

Thermomix is the ultimate kitchen gadget:

Similarly, my favourite recent kitchen purchase is Oxo Good Grips Large Ice Cube Tray. We love the giant cubes and it has a lid.

I love my thermomix

Can it dry herbs?

I’ve purchased a Ninja Foodi with a built in dehydrator and would love to dry herbs 🌿

cooldarkroom · 14/01/2022 16:58

Cheeseboardandcrackers it can, easy. However I tend to freeze mine, I hash them up in my mini robot (bob) & freeze in "tupperwares" (small rectangular boxes, so they all fit in the same door shelf.) they are like fresh herbs then, I cut 2 big handfulls wizz the whole lot straight from the garden, as fresh as possible

Whatoflife · 14/01/2022 17:31

Ice cube maker machine!

guessmyusername · 14/01/2022 17:37

Dd has just added a bagel guillotine to our gadget stash. I never knew such a thing existed

FlyingFlamingo · 14/01/2022 17:44

An Ooni! I will never go out for overpriced pizza again.

It’s more of an outside gadget rather than a kitchen gadget but it’s worth getting cold for.

viques · 14/01/2022 17:44

Have you got a table top ice cream maker? Whenever I watch Masterchef the only thing I lust over is one of those. I had a freezer one but it was a pain because you have to clear a space in the freezer every time, but a table top one, sounds like my sort of ice cream maker........

OldTinHat · 14/01/2022 17:51

Electric egg boiler? I've had mine for 30yrs now! 🤗

CurlyMango · 14/01/2022 21:35

Totally agree regarding the Thermomix, I love mine, but far more costly.

TroysMammy · 14/01/2022 21:43

I've just seen that Lakeland sell a bagel cutter. I bought their bagel moulds last year which I've used twice. Do I really need a bagel cutter?

TroysMammy · 14/01/2022 21:45

Cross post with @guessmyusername

Titsywoo · 14/01/2022 22:00

Get an Ooni

FrogFairy · 14/01/2022 22:27

You already have a stick blender, but if/when it breaks I would heartily recommend a Bamix.
