I love isolated island living but the lack of green space kills it for me.
Whoever buys it is surviving any zombie apocalypses though

I lived on a hill over looking these. Lovely in the summer, but they were BLEAK about 90% of the time. Strong no from me.

One of.my favourite day dreams is to browse private islands for sale - ideally something Greek - and speculate about what I'd buy if I got a really good win on the euromillions.

Needs to be close enough to the mainland for practicalities but private so that I don't have to clap eyes on anyone else if I don't fancy it

How were you not scared? what about if you needed to go to the hospital? could a random killer easily find your island?

Not scared. There was nothing to be scared of! If I’d needed to get off in an emergency, I’d have called the coastguard. And it would need to be an extremely committed and knowledgeable killer — it was only a few miles off the mainland, but across a dirty bit of sea, and with one challenging landing place.

Poor Wilson would have lasted all of about ten minutes with the wind! If I’d wanted an inanimate friend, I’d have had to draw a face on a rock.

I would be envious of it wasn't for the wind you mentioned. I moved to get away from high winds!

Xenia had a island didn’t she? I think she sold it though so it didn’t work out.

I was born and grew up in an Indian Ocean small island and it was amazing.

I was sad the island went it was really part of the mythos! It was absolutely genuine though, I know who she is in real life and it’s all true.

Lol I do live on a small island. Most of the time.

It's 34km around. I can cycle round it in 1 hr 15.

It's maddening and beautiful in equal measure. People here can be very insular and petty, but extraordinary in their generosity and resilience.
