How gorgeous is this?

Sounds good to me. Mind you, this time last year I was wondering if I could find a job as a solitary lighthouse keeper.

Mundra · 12/01/2022 19:32

I visited there many years ago, probably about 35 tbh. It was quite amazing. I think it was a museum then?

DuesToTheDirt · 12/01/2022 19:33

It would be ideal for all those MNers who don't like to answer the door Grin.

It would be a pain sailing to the mainland all the time - that's a really busy shipping channel and some of those ships are huge! We had to tack round one once and it was breathtaking in its size.

RoyTroyAndChris · 12/01/2022 19:36

Although I suppose you'd have a powered boat rather than a yacht.

Would be good to hide out in in the event of a zombie apocalypse.

FOJN · 12/01/2022 19:36

Gotta love estate agents creative writing, apparently it's "coastal" and there are "good road links in the area"!

Northernsoullover · 12/01/2022 19:37

I did live on a Fort for a summer. It had outside space though so you could go for a short walk. It was also a hotel but nothing as luxurious as this.

Snugglepumpkin · 12/01/2022 19:39

If it had more garden I'd love it.
No garden, no interest for me though.

iklboo · 12/01/2022 19:46

You'd be alright in a zombie apocalypse if you were very well stocked.

Can you imagine coming back from a several hours round trip the shops & realising you'd forgotten the milk!

eagerlywaitingfor · 12/01/2022 19:47

It does seem to be rather in the middle of a busy shipping lane.

Idkillforadoughnut · 12/01/2022 21:19

I opened it on picture 2 and I honestly thought it was a cake 🤷‍♀️

Gruffalogrinch · 12/01/2022 22:23

That is a big fat hell no from me. Nope no and thrice no!

Yummiliscious · 12/01/2022 22:57

No neighbours trying to park on your driveway? Now that’s mumsnet heaven!

LadyIckenham · 12/01/2022 23:01

I went there when heavily pregnant with DC2 for lunch. Had to take boat over and it was quite a basic buffet thing but an amazing structure. It's changed a bit now, though!

FindingMeno · 12/01/2022 23:02

That's my zombie apocalypse plan sorted.

ForTheLoversOutThere · 12/01/2022 23:08

If i had that kinda money,
This wouldnt be personally what i would go for

BiscuitLover3678 · 13/01/2022 07:51

What about when the boats can’t sail? Can’t get hold of anyone?

Branleuse · 13/01/2022 07:53

Thats been coming up for a few years now. I would make it into my own micronation with inspiration from the Principality of Sealand

Crowdfundingforcake · 13/01/2022 08:01

Can't make up my mind if it's Bond villain territory or something from an Agatha Christie novel. Either way there will be people with murderous intent.

Honourofgrayskull · 13/01/2022 08:02

I remember seeing this some time ago on morning TV and loving them. There are three in total, one was still a bit of a wreck. I think they're fabulous but I'd only buy it if I was stupidly rich and it was my 'fun pad' not my permanent home.
Doesn't the second picture on the home page look like a birthday cake? Grin

DuesToTheDirt · 13/01/2022 19:40

Yes, I looked on Google maps to check it was really real!

I wonder where you'd keep your own car...

school run would be a pain in the arse
Imagine having to go back because little Nobby has left his book bag at home :P
Suzi888 · 13/01/2022 20:08

I would fear that one very big wave might be all it took- no thanks. It looks a bit dark in some of the rooms too.

Not that it’s a problem Grin it’s slightly outside of my budget.
