If this the the place I want to spend as much time as possible, how can I make this happen

I’ve thought about having an ice cream stand, beach bar, something to do with boats
Any other ideas welcome

On a different tack, I have a friend who lives travelling. He is a nurse, based in the UK, and works very long hours for short periods and then goes travelling for a while before returning for another fairly gruelling stint of work.

Get a job as long haul cabin crew.
We get to preference where we want to fly, so I just go to the Caribbean most of the time.
Work the flight out, spend a couple of days in a nice hotel on the beach ( work put money on a prepaid Mastercard for us to eat, drink, entertain ourselves) then work the flight home.
Such an easy, stress free job and life!!

Good
Karma hospital, yeah I didn’t watch some of that but I don’t remember the beach bar at all

I do know that there’s not really many easy ways to do this tho unless I go with loads of money

A friend of mine became a council ranger responsible for a coastal area. She had a degree in a relevant area (forestry in her case, I think marine biology or botany or environmental science might be others). It was insanely competitive and she didn't earn much. She supported volunteer groups for conservation, applied for grants for conservation projects, and spent a lot of time asking people shagging in the dunes on non-nudist beaches to put their clothes on.

No, we don’t find it remote, there’s so much to do, lots of open spaces. You get so much more for your money here too, we have bought a house we could never afford in England.
Would you consider moving to Australia OP?

I have a cousin who backpacked in her 30s and then settled in Thailand. She is working in a small hotel in a tourist area.

What about teaching English? TEFL qualification is quite easy to get I believe.

mdh2020 · 10/01/2022 13:05

Have you thought of doing a CELTA course? Then you could teach English as a Foreign Language. It isn’t easy to get a work visa for America.

LovelyYellowLabrador · 11/01/2022 08:56

Oh I’d never thought about learning to teach English, but sounds a good one to explore

Coles I’ve not really thought about it before, but it does look lovely, and I’d certainly love to visit for a holiday then probably fall in love with the place

Ives been to Thailand before and although I can see how far 300k would go there, probably feel like a king for a short while anyway
I couldn’t see myself settled there for some reason, mind you I’ve only visited Bangkok and chi am
So I’m sure are places that would be more my cup of tea
