Atm, I'm enjoying the silence while drinking a coffee. The girls stayed up with their dad to see in the new year so they're sock on 🤣

I'm off up to get dressed in a mo, then start slowly taking down the decorations.

I'm fully expecting a lazy day of Minecrafting from the girls, & I really want to actually get somewhere with the crochet socks I've been attempting to start. My brain isn't computing how they want me to start them, and then I lost all track of where I was the other night so packed them away 🤷‍♀️

We're having roast gammon for tea, today rather than tomorrow. There are a handful of Christmas crackers left, so we'll use those up & set the table nicely.

What's everyone else up to? :)

Started writing that two hours ago and forgot to post! We had coffee ages ago now and have already had brunch and put another load on.

Self isolating with the cat as on day 5 of covid.

Happy new year everyone!

Happy New Year everyone. Love these threads.

Lazy day here. Again!

I got up early with the dog, had tea and toast and then went back to bed for a while. Got up and took dog for a walk then came back and tidied kitchen and vacuumed. DH cooked a fry up for us. He and DS are now watching the football. Ive just quickly cleaned the downstairs loo and am now spending the afternoon on the sofa with either a film or making a start on my 2022 50 book reading challenge.

I’ll start taking the Christmas decorations down tomorrow although main tree will stay up until 12th night.

Long family walk at 10am, back home to make steak pie.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 01/01/2022 14:54

That sounds a lovely dinner @CurryLover55. We are having pigs in blankets cauliflower cheese roasties and sprouts

MrsDThomas · 01/01/2022 14:57

In bed achy, headache, watching Netflix. DH and kids watching football.

Ill finish my prosecco later, no way im wasting it! No matter how shit i feel

I made the most of having DH's daughter and her boyfriend here so I nipped into town to try to buy shoes for the toddler (except all the shoe shops were closed so we ended up buying clothes for the toddler and the baby from Next, Primark and Boots). Now I am sitting with DH while he sleeps and I am dreading the future.

@HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule any chance of a link to the diary/planner thread, please? (Or a tag?) I like those kinds of threads as much as nosey ones!

Bless you @bloodywhitecat is DH at home now?
We took down our decorations and cleaned through the house. Then we took DD and DN to ride their bikes along the beach. It was so mild neither of them wore coats! Then went to my mum's for prawn sandwiches and cakes. DD refuse to leave so I came back here for 2 hours of alone time. It was lovely and I got lots done. Now having a cuddle with DD before I find something in the freezer to feed her.

Yes I broke him free on the 15th and the care package started a week later. Sadly the cancer seems to be progressing rapidly now though.

@bloodywhitecat

I'm so sorry about your DH. Unbearably cruel. Sending you hugs.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 01/01/2022 17:07

@bloodywhitecat I have been following your threads on here and you are often in my thoughts x

DrunkenKoala · 01/01/2022 17:13

@bloodywhitecat I’ve seen some of your other posts, I’m glad you were able to have DH home for Christmas.

I’ve had a lovely day. I was up early but we chilled out this morning, had an early lunch and headed out. DP and DS went to the football and DD and I headed over to a nearby NT place and did the Percy the Park Keeper Trail.

Tomorrow we’re off to the in laws for lunch. It’s DD’s birthday next week so we’ll take her birthday cake over there for her (I feel so sorry for her having her birthday the first week in Jan, we do try to do something mid year for her as well)

On Monday we’ll take the tree and decorations down and give the house a good clean.

onedayoranother · 01/01/2022 17:31

Took my daughter out for lunch and my son is watching football (not here with us). Lazy day really. Did a load of laundry. Contemplating taking the decs down tomorrow.

Thanks @HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule I'll enjoy that too. Love a good planner! One of my favourite things to do is sit and the start of the month and plan things to do with my toddler that month etc
