Morning all! Happy New Year! What are your plans for today?

Atm, I'm enjoying the silence while drinking a coffee. The girls stayed up with their dad to see in the new year so they're sock on 🤣

I'm off up to get dressed in a mo, then start slowly taking down the decorations.

I'm fully expecting a lazy day of Minecrafting from the girls, & I really want to actually get somewhere with the crochet socks I've been attempting to start. My brain isn't computing how they want me to start them, and then I lost all track of where I was the other night so packed them away 🤷‍♀️

We're having roast gammon for tea, today rather than tomorrow. There are a handful of Christmas crackers left, so we'll use those up & set the table nicely.

Christmas is all back up in the loft. We've sprung-cleaned the boys bedrooms ready for new bedding and decor they were given.

I'm sitting down with a cup of tea and I've opened up the last of the choc boxes.

Dh is hoovering upstairs, his coffee is waiting.

DC have been very helpful carrying stuff back and forth and are now relaxing with a car race on the floor and YouTube in the background.

Dcats are annoyed and flicking tails but they'll settle down on a bed once the hoover comes downstairs again.

Might go for a wander later. Fishcakes for dinner as I'm clearing the freezer of old stock before the shopping comes on Monday.

Cleaning up from the party. 2 black bins bags of rubbish and 1 of recycling. It seemed a good idea at the time to pop the helium balloons full of confetti but my god it is everywhere!!

After that completely chill.

I really wanted to go for a run but it’s so stormy I’d be afraid of a tree falling! I’ll prob watch this movie then I’d really like to take the decorations down but DH likes them up until next weekend so I’ll let the kids vote.

Happy New Year @lucysmam. Just chilling for the morning about to go get ready for the day. Out for lunch with friends in a local Asian cafe, adults only so may be a little NYD drink on the way home and then takeaway for tea. I generally do no cooking at New Year. Hope 2022 is finally out exit from the plague 🤞

Going to leave the decorations up until Monday (so dh can dispose of the tree) also want to watch the first episode of Call the Midwife with the twinkly lights. I've all the main bits gone just a tree and garland left.

Have the oven on to put in a turkey joint (I bought a small one incase we got locked down and couldn't get one for Christmas) but we were OK and had a large turkey

I have loads to do - but don't know what to do. Dh is reading the paper and dc playing football and other drawing.

Tidied up, bedding washed, heading out to some friends for lunch. Tonight we’re eating last night’s buffet leftovers and Netflixing it. I like NYD. ALSO, 4th Christmas/ NY sober as a recovering alcoholic.

Trip to B&Q, put up new stair lights and nip the hoover over.

God we know how to live!!!

Making a start on my resolutions. Eating healthy, exercising, taking care of myself kind of things. I still have a load of chocolate from Christmas but I'll have a small portion every evening with a brew until it's gone - I'll still lose weight.

My plan is not to buy chocolate for myself this year. So my Christmas chocolate will last ages, then Easter eggs (which I still get plenty of despite being in my 30s) then birthday chocolate later in the year. So I will get times in between with no chocolate at all. Let's see how that goes!

Done parkrun - showered and dressed 2x ds downstairs with dh watching a film Iv just got baby ds to sleep (while mumsnetting) . Going to head down maybe make bacon sandwiches and play on games console with older two.
Off to mil later for nyd buffet!

We’re at a little holiday lodge until Monday, today is going to be quite lazy, we’re off to visit our little girl later today, long dog walk planned and a film. We’re then going to do ever MNers favourite thing, sit in the sex pond.

I have covid but feeling a bit better today.

We are just having a quiet morning playing with new toys etc.

Planning an afternoon in the garden, planting some bulbs etc, hopefully get the fire pit on and I want to try roasting some chestnuts.

We were meant to be having slow cooker roast beef dinner tonight but I forgot to lift the beef out the freezer so that's off the menu. Debating still doing a roast but with pigs in blankets instead out the fridge.

Hopefully children to bed early as they are tired after a late night last night.

Im hoping to watch some TV tonight I haven't felt up to it all week!

Feeling very virtuous as we did Parkrun as a family with some friends.

Having sausage egg and pancakes now though, which spoils it a bit.

Going to chill out before an early dinner at 3pm and an early night I think!

We are still isolating although all starting to feel better to varying degrees. We have a full Xmas dinner planned (with our back up turkey in case we couldn’t go to family) and then more cards and board games. I’m saving the cleaning and big pile of ironing until tomorrow when the holidays are officially over.

Happy new year everyone! Were off to my mums for dinner today as we missed them all over Christmas as we had covid. Looking forward to seeing them all. Will get ready shortly and do a quick tidy round of the house. New years day is strictly a no laundry day here. And I love it 😂

Exh dropped ds1 and ds2 off at 9am. Twat. Luckily I was up and not to hungover.
Lazy pj day. Making roast chicken for dinner. Need to start my new journal as am determined 2022 is going to be a positive year for us.

Poured all leftover booze down sink. Dry january starts now.

We've had a very lazy morning after a late and rather too boozy NYE. The bacon and sausage sandwich has just about done away with my queasy hangover thank goodness. At 46 I should know that mixing drinks is never a good idea but seemingly not.
Dh and ds2 are watching Star Wars for the 8000th time, ds1 is chatting to mates on the PlayStation.
We'll go for a walk in a while, although the boys are objecting so we might just leave them at home, then back for more lazing, dh's homemade pizzas and an early night.

Lovely lazy day for me and DD. Watching films, playing on switch and snacking our way through the day. Will take down decs and clean tomorrow.

Morning started with a run and a swim in a waterfall, then a cuppa with a friend to talk about a project . Home for a row with D's about writing his thank you letters.

Need to name change back...

We’ve just had coffee in bed. Next we will prepare a brunch of grain bread with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, had with a small glass of orange juice as well as a cup or two of earl grey tea.

After that we’re going to potter around and/or relax for the day. I’ve been reading the diary/planner thread so now I want to do some shopping around for one for this year.

I don’t take the decorations down until twelfth night, so I get to enjoy them for a few more days yet.

I’ve put one load on to wash - tea towels. Next I’ll do the bath and hand towels, and after that, bedding. Then a load of clothing. DH will hang it all. We’re catching up because we haven’t done much laundry over the past couple of weeks.

If it stays dry we’ll go out for a walk. Which reminds me I need to buy a hip flask for DH!

I’m going to do some virtual shopping too...we’re looking to buy wellies and I’ve decided I want a pretty pair to brighten up our winter walks.

I don’t know what we’re going to have for dinner today...maybe a soup or stew. I might bake some bread. I also want to make tebirkes (a Danish pastry) as I didn’t get a chance over Christmas.
