As the title says really...DP has a birthday coming up and I'm looking for ideas (early 50s, mountain biker, like food and booze).

Theragun mini. My DH is obsessed with his, he even brought it on holiday.

LHReturns · 30/12/2021 02:03

Great ideas here! Mine liked the bluetooth audio sunglasses….

I bought my DH a massage gun for Christmas, a much cheaper version of the Theragun, he loves it and so does our 18 year old who now wants one of his own.

The fleece lined joggers from M&S.

Champagneforeveryone · 30/12/2021 02:34

Perhaps not relevant to your DH, but mine has started to feel the cold lately and I bought him a heated throw.

I frequently catch him wrapped up to the eyeballs, or find it slipped under the duvet before he goes to bed. On all these occasions it is only "for the cat" of course Wink

Kwackerly · 30/12/2021 02:59

A weather station! We often bicker about how cold the house is, and now he can use his weather station as proof. He seems very pleased.

Also - a hamper of Scottish seafood was a triumph last year!

Mine got from me a car vacuum cleaner to clean out his mucky work ute & a metal art piece of 2 Tui birds (it's called metalbirds) to bang into a tree. Hard to explain but we love the Tuis in our garden & this way they're always here.
DH also got a new wallet, a weather predicting book (?? 🤣), a Sudoku book & a new work cap from our DS's. I think he was pleased with the present pile this year, a bit different to the undies & chocs he often gets 🙂

over2021 · 30/12/2021 07:06

Car polisher/buffer
New motorbike helmet
PlayStation gaming headphones
Custom made fire pit

BadLad · 30/12/2021 07:55

Make up a box of different beers. One for each year of his life. The more local brews you can get, the better.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/12/2021 07:58

My 47 year old mountain biker really likes his fire pit

Mamamia1010 · 30/12/2021 08:00

Out of all the presents I've bought DH in the past few years, his favorite is a bath tray. He likes a soak after exercising and being able to put his spare phone, kindle and beer on a tray has apparently improved his life immensely. He hadn't asked for the tray so at least I have some smug points.

Does water vapour from the bath not get into the phone and Kindle?
Bebeschitt · 30/12/2021 08:20

Another vote for the Bob Mortimer book here! His nose has been buried in it for days.
He also got a beanie had with a built in LED for dog walking which went down well.

bubblicious3 · 30/12/2021 08:22

A whiskey decanter and matching tumblers. John Lewis have some beautiful but reasonably priced ones
Underwear from Bam clothing - the pants are the best thing ever apparently (they do sportswear too)

Greys007 · 30/12/2021 08:23

@WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks Not sure what kind of budget you’re working with. Some gifts that have been popular with DH over the years:

Bigger gifts - Apple Watch, coffee machine, electric drum kit (he played as a teen and thought it would be fun to get back into it 🤣)

Less pricey - Nice dressing gown/PJs/ loungewear/slippers, Boots/trainers, North Face jacket, Spa day/spa weekend

Probably his favourite of all - the giant ‘build your own’ Pick & Mix with all his favourite sweets in from Sweetzy that he gets every birthday & Christmas 🤣
