How do you store spare duvets and pillows?

Literally just that. We seem to have accumulated a few and they are taking up so much space in our box room!

Sorry stupid question...do you need a proper vacuum for these bags? I have floor boards so I don't have a vacuum
Yes you do

In the drawers under the spare bed.

The rest are in use.

I think JML do one with its own pump. ( Others may be available)

Not always. For normal vacuum bags you usually do but JML do one that has a portable vacuum gizmo.

We used to have vacuum ones that just had a valve, you rolled them tightly and all the air squeezed out then you closed the valve, like self-inflating camping mattresses. But you ended up with shiny, not very flat packages that didn't sit well on to of one another in the airing cupboard and would slide off the shelves. The Ikea zip bags stack much better.

Above the hot water tank, in the bag the highest tog duvet of that size came in (so we only keep the 10tog duvet bag for our king-size, but it currently has a 4.5 and 1.5 tog duvet in).

No spare pillows, only whats on the beds.

We had some compression bags to store duvets that you rolled to expell the air, rather than vacuumed. Cant instantly find them online and not at home to determine brand.

I vacuum pack them to save space and store them under the bed in the spare room.

We have exactly the same problem @Asiama, so for Christmas the DC's grandparents were asked to buy these...

Wekapo Stuffed Animal Storage... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B077RBHSXL?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

Now the four spare duvets we seem to need to keep (we have already slimmed down the stash...) are inside the two new empty beanbags, which have become the DC chair of choice in their tv room... win win!

Cupboard under the stairs..

When you're looking to replace the duvets, consider no-tog wool - we've had them for around 15 years now; same duvet winter and summer, I need for spare season duvets in storage!

usernamealreadytaken · 28/12/2021 23:03

*no need for...!

ExquisitelyDecorated · 28/12/2021 23:08

We never really replace our duvets, they are all at least 10 years old and going strong. I don't fancy wool in case it makes me itch (can't wear it even over a teeshirt or similar).

Sgtmajormummy · 28/12/2021 23:13

I fold them into 50x50 cm squares and use them to stuff cushions or pillows (50x 80).
