How often do you have a relaxing 'me time' kind of bath?

For me, it's every single evening without fail (unless I'm unwell or there's some hot water issue!). I've done this for as many years as I can remember.

It's not a bath to get clean so I'm not talking about that .. I shower every morning and wash my hair then. This is just to relax and read or look at my phone. I have many bottles of various oils / bubbles/ salts and spend about 45 mins in there

Once a week, on a Sunday evening, for pure relaxation. It sets up my mood up nicely for the coming week. I also have a daily morning shower that takes about 15 minutes.

There seems to be a lot of people having these type of daily evening baths; do you then have a shower every morning following this?

thekissoflife · 27/12/2021 09:45

What do you do about your hair? Do you wash it with the shower afterwards?

ghostmouse · 27/12/2021 09:46

Pretty much every day.

I’ll go in for an hour every evening, it does my mental health wonders.

I grew up in a house with no shower, my student digs had no bath and as I was sharing with 5 lads the showers were always minging.

I’ve lived in council for years and it’s only been the last 6 years I’ve actually had a showet fitted when they did the bathrooms.

I still don’t use it

LuaDipa · 27/12/2021 11:17

I had my dream bathroom with huge bath installed last year and suddenly realised that I’d never used my bath. I now soak in there a few times a week and still don’t take it for granted.

RampantIvy · 27/12/2021 11:20

As often as I want to. DD is a student and away most of the year, and we have more than one loo, so no interruptions.

JohnSmithDrive · 27/12/2021 11:22

Never. I like the idea of a bath, but it takes ages to run and get the temperature right, then once I'm in and have had a wash, I'm ready to get out and the temperature isn't right anymore.

I'd like a relaxing bath, but I don't find that they are.

misspepper · 27/12/2021 11:25

A couple of times a week, usually with a face mask or hair treatment on.
If I’m staying in a hotel with a nice bath then as often as I can during the stay.

Ibane · 27/12/2021 11:31

Virtually every night when we had a bath I’d chosen specifically for its comfort. We moved countries since and are renovating an ancient bathless wreck, but will be installing one in he spring.

OwlInLove · 27/12/2021 21:39

@thekissoflife I wouldn't wash my hair in the bath. As per opening post, I shower every morning and wash my hair then.

A bath doesn't mean a hair wash

It varies, in the Winter usually a few times a week. Less so in the Summer.

I love a scorching hot bath.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 27/12/2021 21:43

Every night before I had a baby! Now it's only once a week Sad

Now it's my Sunday morning treat - Neom bath foam, get in with the paper and a mug of coffee, bliss. I really miss my regular evening baths though, hopefully when dd is a bit less demanding at bedtimes I can start having them again.

gogohm · 27/12/2021 21:45

Never at home, well just occasionally if I get wet and cold out walking or something, but I do like a jacuzzi

RoseMartha · 27/12/2021 21:45

Last one was about six weeks ago.
If it is raining tomorrow I plan to have one while my dc are at their dads. Downside being I will have to dress in day clothes after and go out to collect them.

HeronLanyon · 27/12/2021 21:47

I have a Bath daily (and far prefer to a shower) but can’t stand to be in it more than 10 mins tops.

womaninatightspot · 27/12/2021 22:04

Every night too. It's a new habit since I stopped drinking in the evening, so now am thinner and have really good skin with all my exfoliating and moisturising. My feet have been awful for years and they look much better for a nightly soak. I bought a pair of fly london sandals off amazon warehouse for a tenner, this will be the summer I dare to bare my heels/ toes!

About10thusername · 27/12/2021 22:06

Probably 3 times a year. I love a bath when I have it but it's not my immediate go to thing to do when I have a spare hour.
I always have a bath on Mother's Day though.

Ozgirl75 · 27/12/2021 22:08

I can’t remember the last time I had a bath. I find them boring, would prefer to relax on the sofa with a cup of tea. Don’t like being too hot and after I’ve spent 10 minutes running the thing I never want to stay in for longer than 10 minutes so it feels like a big waste of water.
Scalding hot shower for me!

HippeePrincess · 27/12/2021 22:10

usually every 3 or 4 days when my hair needs washing so I combine relaxing with function, I find it a chore standing long enough to wash my hair in the shower and only do this when I really have to.

GrolliffetheDragon · 27/12/2021 22:49

Used to be maybe once a month or fortnight. I think it's been about four years since I had a bath.

Combination of DS not sleeping easily and the fact I absolutely hate my bathroom so find it hard to relax in it.

Rememberallball · 28/12/2021 03:10

@KeyLimePies, yes I have a quick strip wash at other times but only actually get in the bath or shower that infrequently.

DramaAlpaca · 28/12/2021 03:14

I shower every morning but I can't remember when I last had a bath at home. I do enjoy a long soak in a hotel bath whenever I get the opportunity.

Vegetalienne · 28/12/2021 03:21

Never! We removed all the baths from this house and replaced with showers. I’d rather have a quick shower and then relax in bed.

RampantIvy · 28/12/2021 08:01

I find them boring,

I read in the bath.

Alwayscheerful · 28/12/2021 18:01

Every morning at least an hour, plus . Music and iPad or iPhone.

Quick shower before bed.

PotatoOfTheNight · 28/12/2021 18:07

Every night, the only exceptions being on occasions like this week, where we've been out from the afternoon to late at night so I've only had morning showers.
