Cheese in blankets!

Has anyone seen these yummy little treats on the shelves this year? We as a family love them and Christmas lunch just won't be the same without them!
I Have tried Marks, Asda and tescos to no avail

I have been looking out for them and can't find them anywhere.
Can also add Sainsbury's and Waitrose to the places without them.

Is it something like halloumi wrapped in streaky bacon? Should be easy to make I imagine.

Just a cube of cheddar wrapped I a slice of streaky bacon. Set the kids to making them, should keep them occupied for 10 mins, just make sure they're not eating cubes of cheese with bacon fingers 😆

Think I will try to replicate them myself but cheddar would just melt out I should imagine? Think halloumi would be too salty for the kids and mozzarella is tasteless...... what magic cheese do they use!

Paneer behaves like halloumi but tastes a lot milder.

M&S used to do these and they were my absolute favourites - don't think they do them anymore 😫

WHAT?! They are top of my shopping list for DH tomorrow . I was thinking if they’d be easy to make in case they’d sold out.

I used to love the M&S cheese & bacon straws too. WHY do shops do this?

I have found my people. I'm obsessed with these but can't find them anywhere this year. They make the Christmas Day food for me.

I've tried to make them myself with cheddar but it's not worked. Too melty.

Does smoked cheese not melt flat? Going to zap some in the microwave now to test!

According to the packaging it's a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar. I was wondering if cheese strings might work 😂

The result is it melts like cheddar, would end up with half empty bacon rolls!

I think we've had these before and they do end up all melty. They were very nice but a bit messy to eat, and look at for that matter.

Fine for scoffing in front of the TV, perhaps aided by a fork not what you want for smart finger food.

would it work if the cheese cubes were frozen first?

We love these in my family too but can't find this year. We've had this before where some years they're just not around!! Ruins Christmas morning for me as I love them on toast The cheese is like mozzarella but the bacon is almost aggressively Smokey!

Now all I want to do is eat cheese in blankets 😭

The M&S ones are so good! Gutted if they’ve stopped doing them.

Ahhh these are our family tradition every single year for morning Xmas day …. I have been looking everywhere even drove 30 miles to a big M&S today but they have bought out chorizo blankets instead ! I’m so gutted 😢 asda does them but only pack of 10 and tastes nothing like the M&S ones. I’m gonna try asda tomorrow and if no luck then I’m gonna have to make them xx
