My lovely boy is on his way home for Christmas!

It's been a stressful two months but he's on his way... He's deaf and autistic and had to do Christmas Day on his own last year... It was beyond awful.We had no way of getting him home and we wanted to protect my elderly mother so he stayed in his flat and my friend delivered his dinner.
He's been convinced since November that he won't get back for Christmas and every time Boris has spoken he's got very anxious... (Particularly the two this week!)
Anyway he's on his way with his suitcase, presents and a giant sized Chef Percy Pig!! 🙊 🙊 🙊 🙊
My friends husband is taking me to the station to collect him and we can't wait to see each other!!

Mumsnet has changed over the years , I think it's not as kind as it used to be and much more cynical.
Stories of Wilf and his adventures have always made me smile though . It's been lovely to watch him over the years... I love his enthusiasm and as a pp has said, this thread has made me feel very Christmassy.

I do have a heart in there somewhere though and stories of Wilf and those who love him over the years kind of chips off the granite cover a bit.

Mum and I took him shopping in the local supermarket yesterday morning... He could be heard loudly wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New year!! He then vanished and Mum kept worrying where he had gone... I told her it was far more worrying when he disappeared and you couldn't hear him as I know from bitter experience!
I took him into where I work this morning... One of my customers got very excited when she saw him and signed Merry Christmas announcing she had been practicing for when she saw him... He replied that that was ASL and her face fell. He then blocked the entrance to the shop showing her and another customer how to sign it in BSL!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

This is a lovely thread. It's so nice to have the kids home isn't it! My DD's couldn't get home last year either, one is already here and the other arrives tomorrow I'm excited

@Elderflower14 she did come home. didn't know till thursday! had a lovely time.

Thanks you everyone for keeping eye and checking on me I am now back home my mum did cried but I told her to not to cry and I will be ok and I didn’t cry I did really well I was little bit anxious with train travelling but I done really well and I kept calm despite I did get panic when I saw lots of people queuing and that I did have my anxiety building up because I knew I was being careful with too many people despite the Covid rising and that why it made me more fearful of being around with lots of people but I done really well and because of that I went to my M&S as Percy got me a surprise and he knew about me which make me smile

I think your mum will always cry a little at goodbyes - she has just got used to having you home and you are away again. But rest assured you will have filled her with as much love as she can take until the next time she sees you. 😊
