To those questioning the womans texts rather than the stitches from medical report, really?!
I want to say give your heads a wobble and never expect a girlfriend to trust to tell you she has been raped eh! Sheesh, I mean he is known as Mr Big or a tough police Detective from tv, he ran at least one night club in real life as a previous poster mentioned I think (which ended badly in court I believe) and so would clearly of had some heavy contacts too. Poor girl was terrified. Tried to be polite but honest and avoided him thereafter. Stitches vs texts, sheeeeesh.
I've just tried to do a deep dive into American law for bringing a criminal case for rape and its different in different states. NYC is I think 25 years changed in last few years from shorter but they have different degrees of 'rape' and it gets a tad confusing.
Whereas in UK there is no statute of limitations, for good reason. That people are left traumatised or trapped in awful situations for years and it can take a long time to be brave enough to speak out and in some cases, literally life/career threatening.
I think some people on this thread have some kind of cognitive dissonance going on about some of the brutal realities in the world and a severe lack of critical and independent thought.
Oh and someone also mentioned Vanity Fair with a question mark, they are surprisingly good with such matters, their legal battle with Roman Polanski in 2005 a case in point and their 2020 article on Ghislaine Maxwell 'On the Lam' (hilarious title
) is another.
