It's only right!

Has anyone actually provided evidence of her transphobia in the deleted comments? Maybe I just missed it.

Joolsin · 16/12/2021 21:34

Done!

startrek90 · 16/12/2021 21:35

Voted. Was very clear why too. I think her staying the course despite the rape and eath threats from TRAs has been incredible. I also have much love for Kathleen Stock too.

Jk is wonderful and so very down to earth despite her fame and fortune. My children also adore her newer books (the ikabog was fantastic) and I can't wait to share her Harry Potter novels as my kids gets older

inmyslippers · 16/12/2021 21:35

Let's keep the votes Rowling in 😆

WomanStillNotAFeeling · 16/12/2021 21:35

Voted for her due to how much she gives to charity

Voted!

Reminds me of John Cleese. The world has moved on and people are into different genres/creatives/whatever but some people who were famous back then can't cope with their hey-day being over with so will pretty much do anything to stay 'relevant' even if that means being talked about on Twitter. With her wealth I'd be exploring the deep ocean or space or just about anything than pretending trans people are all would-be miscreants.

Turtles4543 · 16/12/2021 21:38

Yes!

And yet again, where’s the evidence? You know, rather than some bullshit you’ve copied off some scared twitter blue tick.
Icenii · 16/12/2021 21:40

Good to see all these votes for someone who stands up for female rights.

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 16/12/2021 21:40

It must really hurt, what they've done to her. Yet I've never seen her say a bad word about them. Wish I had her composure!

Can’t stand seeing the promo photos in the online papers with their shit eating grins and knowing she has been axed from what is essentially her fucking brain child for no good reason.

WotgunShedding · 16/12/2021 21:40

Voted too!

Whinge · 16/12/2021 21:40

My children also adore her newer books (the ikabog was fantastic)

I love that despite knowing she had a captive audience who would have happily paid for the Ikabog, she initially shared it for free.

Please explain how you disagree with this?

In her shoes I'd have sat in my castle and used my money and resources to help others less fortunate. But alas.

Give over.

She founded Lumos, a charity that aims to keep children all over the world out of the care system so they can be raised in loving families.

Since 2009, Lumos has prevented 20,915 children from entering harmful institutions. We work to keep families together and provide support for children within their communities.

In May this year, she donated £1m to 2 charities to help fight the Covid crisis in India.

She used £10m to establish the The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, and donated over £15m to it in 2019. They're researching MS, motor neuron disease, dementia, Parkinson's disease.

She's speaking up for women who don't have the platform, wealth and security that she does. Like women in prison, women who need refuges, rape crisis centres etc.

There's the Volant Charitable Trust.

The Volant Trust was set up by author J.K. Rowling in 2000 as a grant making trust to help fund charitable causes in Scotland, with an emphasis on women and children’s issues.

The Trust now also supports charities assisting vulnerable groups impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK and internationally.

That's just a handful of examples. What do you call that if not helping others less fortunate? Hmm

MandyMotherOfBrian · 16/12/2021 21:44

@VladmirsPoutine

JK could have gone down as one of the greats of our time but instead she chose to shit on her own legacy. I'll get why. In her shoes I'd have sat in my castle and used my money and resources to help others less fortunate. But alas.
Are there genuinely people, that say things like this, and are not in the least bit embarrassed about how thick they sound, given that it’s the complete opposite of the actual truth? It’s baffling.

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 16/12/2021 21:46

Thanks I will vote for her too. Cannot think of braver person with more integrity. Actually stunning and brave, she is person of the decade in my eyes.

Her hey day is hardly over. Her book sales are going from strength to strength.

Again, you are providing no evidence that she said all trans people have a hidden seedy agenda. She is standing up for women - including rape victims - who have the right to access spaces based only on their biological sex that aren't accessed by those who have a penis - biological men, however they like to identify. It's science.

Who can actually argue with that? Fries my brain.

GromblesofGrimbledon · 16/12/2021 21:47

Thanks for this. I've nominated her. Would never have known about it otherwise as I avoid The Guardian like the plague.
