I only went and bloody did it!

I found an agency that SS didn't know covered our area and they had the capacity to take DH on so he is now home ahead of care starting on Monday. After being told he might not be home for weeks I bloody did it. I got him home and in time for Christmas.

(back story, DH has terminal cancer and was doing OK apart from some new small tumours and the main one growing again. He was working full time, then he had a massive stroke on 20th November and is now a shadow of his former self, he can't speak, walk or use the right side of his body).

Great news! It will make a huge difference to the quality of his life. The other great news is that the hospital now also know about this agency so your determination could well enable other families to get proper support for their loved ones.

My mum had a massive stroke in 2017, and can’t speak, is right side paralysed and in a wheelchair. My dad cared for her (with carers and family help) for 3 years but it took its toll and then he had a small stroke, thankfully only his speech was affected a little. Mum now in a care home, and dad at home on his own. It’s so sad.
